Minor, two attack BMC employee in crowded train
THANE: The Mumbai railway police have nabbed a minor boy who along with his two aides allegedly assaulted a BMC employee with a sharp object following a petty fight over jostling in a packed suburban train, officials informed.
According to officials, the victim who works in one of the BMC ward offices was returning home to Vithalwadi from work last week when he got into an argument with the accused including two minor boys who were on their way home in Ulhasnagar from a leisure trip to Mumbai.

“There was some quarrel between the accused and the victim over standing space in the crowded fast local near Ghatkopar. However, as the train was approaching Dombivli, the two parties got into a scuffle with one of the minors brandishing a sharp weapon and tried to stab the victim. Luckily, the victim managed to ward off the attempt and suffered injuries to his arm and started bleeding,” informed Pandhari Kande, senior inspector at the Kalyan railway police station.
The incident was reported last week and reported late Monday following which the police started investigations and tracked one of the minor boys. Investigations are on to track the two accused, informed the police.
