NEW DELHI: The Congress party made a significant victory in Meghalaya by winning the Tura Lok Sabha seat from the National People's Party (NPP) as reported by the Election Commission.
The Congress candidate Saleng A Sangma emerged victorious by defeating the NPP MP Agatha K Sangma with a considerable margin of 1,55,241 votes. Securing 3,83,919 votes, Saleng A Sangma left behind Agatha K Sangma, who received 2,28,678 votes.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Zenith M Sangma occupied the third position with 48,709 votes.
