Retired IAS officer's house looted in Hyderabad

An unidentified group broke into the home of retired IAS officer Gera Ravi Babu in Hyderabad, stealing gold and valuables while the family was away. Police are investigating the incident to determine the full extent of the theft.

HYDERABAD: Unidentified persons broke into the locked house of a retired IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, Gera Ravi Babu, at Narsingi on the outskirts of Hyderabad and looted gold and other valuables.
The incident came to light on Tuesday morning. Ravi and his family had been away from home for the past week as they had gone to Vijayawada, Narsingi police said.

According to police, Ravi Babu and his wife reside in a two-storey building at Gandhamguda under the Narsingi police station of the Cyberabad commissionerate. On June 3, they went to Vijayawada. They returned home at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday and were shocked to see that the building’s main door was ajar.
They checked the entire house only to find that all the doors were open and gold and other valuables kept in the almirahs were stolen.
The Narsingi police, along with a clues team and dog squad, visited the building, registered a case, and started an investigation. The exact amount of property stolen is still being ascertained.
