Nearly 10% deficient rain in region
Bathinda: As the region received moderate to heavy rain in the last few days, the north India states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh have moved from large deficient rainfall (60% to 90%) to normal rainfall (-19% to +19%).
Punjab, from June 1 to July 7, recorded 9% deficient rain. The state received 74.5 mm rainfall against a normal of 82 mm.
Haryana recorded 10% deficient rain as it received 70.9 mm rain against a normal of 78.5 mm.
Himachal Pradesh also recorded 10% deficient rain as it received 123.2 mm rain against a normal of 144.5 mm. However, in the last 24 hours, from 8.30 am on July 6 to 8.30 am on July 7, Punjab recorded 25% excess rainfall as it received 5.8 mm rain against a normal of 4.6 mm.
Haryana recorded 139% excess rain as it received 9.6 mm rain against a normal of 4 mm rainfall, while Himachal recorded 92% deficient rainfall as it received 0.7 mm rain against a normal of 8.4 mm.
