Godrej Agrovet opens Samadhan centre in Tamil Nadu, plans five more
Tamil Nadu industries minister TRB Rajaa was present on the occasion of the inauguration of the Thanjavur Samadhan centre on Monday.
CHENNAI: Diversified agri-business company Godrej Agrovet’s Oil Palm Plantation (OPP) business opened a Samadhan centre in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur on Monday. It is planning to open a five more Samadhan centres in the state as part of the company’s plans to establish 35 new centres across the country by 2027 at a total investment of Rs 70 crore.
Not for profit Samadhan is a one stop solution centre offering comprehensive package including inputs, tools, services and solutions for oil palm farmers to enhance yield and improve productivity.

State industries minister TRB Rajaa, who was present on the occasion of the inauguration of the Thanjavur centre, said the facility exemplified the state government’s commitment in bringing food processing units to the delta districts.
"In addition to this, Godrej is setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for its FMCG business in the state. Their decision to open yet another facility reinforces their trust in the robust business ecosystem of our state," he said.
Sougata Niyogi, CEO, OPP, Godrej Agrovet, said four to five more centres would be set up in different parts of the state including Cuddalore, Villupuram and Tiruvarur over the next 18 months.
"We are targeting 1,200 acres this year and extend it by 5,000 acres by 2027 in the state. Currently, we have 15 Samadhan centres operational in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Tamil Nadu is the third state that we have forayed into," he told TOI.
