Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar issued guidelines for worshippers to consider when around mosques.
In a post shared on its social handles, the Ministry stressed the following:
- Dressing up appropriately when attending prayers at the mosque, with some examples of inappropriate dress being “outfits meant for sleep” and “dirty outfits.”
- Maintaining personal hygiene.
- Placing footwear in its designated keeping place so that it does not obstruct the mosque entry to worshippers, especially senior worshippers.
- Using water conservatively while performing wudu (ablution)
- Not tampering with the devices in the mosque (air conditioners, lights, acoustics)
- Handicap facilities and parking should be used only by the category they have been designated for.
- It is prohibited to use the vehicle parking area during times other than prayer times.
- Abstaining from discarding tissues and waste in places not meant for their disposal.
- Abstaining from standing in front of doors belonging to residential units situated near the mosque.
