#1. The cast members weighed in on those Jax and Brittany cheating rumours

Former SURvers (and now stars of another VPR spinoff, The Valley) Brittany and Jax recently separated, and the gossip mill has been churning with rumours that it had something to do with Jax being unfaithful.

The cast, however, isn’t convinced: Scheana says she initially thought they might be, but realized that Brittany would have known because she has all the passwords to his phone and social media, so she’s dismissed them. Katie added that any rumours she’d heard had originated online, and not among their actual IRL circle.

#2. Ariana and Sandoval have the conversation they avoided in the finale episode

If you watched the entire season, you’ll know that the cast had some strong feelings about Ariana choosing not to film with her ex-boyfriend, Tom, a.k.a. the villain of #Scandoval, who cheated on her. In fact, she was accused of being a “bad sport” of a reality star by not delivering the onscreen drama between two of the key players in one of pop culture’s biggest moments of the past few years.

This final installment of the reunion, however, finally saw the two exes have a (very emotional) conversation on camera.

“I just want you away from me. I just want you gone. I don’t want to be in a position where I am being forced,” Ariana said at one point. “I am not forced to do anything. I will have that conversation with everybody else, but I am not in a place to have a conversation with you. I was in that moment just about to be used.”

Sandoval later apologized to her. “I feel really bad about that. I wish you the best and I will give you your space. We will figure everything out,” he said. “We have our lawyers, don’t worry about it. I understand.”

#3. Friendships remain fractured

This season—and the continued Scandoval fallout—left many in the cast in tricky spots, friendship-wise. Scheana called it “the most challenging summer I have had with this group,” while Lala said she was “OK” with the fact that she, Katie and Ariana were done as friends.

Ariana and Lala, perhaps the most contentious relationship of them all, seemed to end in an even worse place, with the latter doubling down on her assertion that Ariana, by refusing to film with Tom, was letting down everyone else who starred on the show.

“I am happy that Ariana was catapulted into opportunity. However, I will be damned if one person doesn’t step up to the f—king plate. So if you don’t give a f—k about your position on the show, then I need you to give a f—ck about mine,” Lala said at one point.

Ariana, continuing her trend of breaking the fourth wall, replied: “Arguably, if you want to talk in show terms, me walking away from that conversation was a lot more interesting than me sitting there and having it.”

And then the zinger: “Was that not a better ending to your season? To give you another season for another paycheck?”
