Ben Affleck Looked Happy As He Spent July 4th With His Kids In L.A, Away From Wife Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck found themselves on opposite coasts celebrating the Fourth of July holiday as divorce rumors plague their marriage.

While the actress was seen shopping for plants and eating out with friends in the Hamptons, Affleck stayed behind in Los Angeles and went out to eat with two of his children.

Jennifer Lopez is allegedly planning to relocate to New York if her divorce from Ben Affleck goes through, with a source adding that she might reunite with her former fiancé, Alex Rodriguez.

Days after returning from her Italian vacation, Lopez headed out to the Hamptons, New York, where she spent Independence Day, leaving her estranged husband to do his own thing in L.A.

According to People magazine, she notably spotted her wedding band and was seen shopping for plants in the company of her manager, Benny Medina.

Lopez had previously joined friends for lunch at Sant Ambroeus on Tuesday night before driving off in her jeep.

On the other hand, Affleck stayed back in L.A. and spent the holiday with his children, Violet and Fin, dining alfresco, per the Daily Mail.

The "Argo" actor was visibly enamored with his kids. He was pictured smiling from ear to ear as he joked with them and tenderly touched his daughter's cheek.

Lopez's trip to the Hamptons comes amid speculation that she would relocate to New York if she eventually divorces Affleck and may reignite her romance with her former partner, Alex Rodriguez.

A source told In Touch that even before her marital troubles began, she was "pushing for a full-time move to New York" and has now "decided to go ahead with that after the split."

"She'll probably keep a place in L.A. but she needs to get away from all the noise and the scrutiny on the West Coast," an insider told the news outlet.

Lopez's children, Emme and Max, are another reason why the entertainer may move to the Big Apple, as the city would seemingly afford them a "fresh start."

"There's nothing to stop her from taking the kids and making a fresh start back in New York," the insider added. "They've got plenty of schools back east, and she's got a great social circle there.

Amid reports that Lopez and Affleck's marriage has been over "for months now," tongues are already wagging as to the possibility of her moving on almost immediately.

According to In Touch, a source explained that Lopez might rekindle her romance with Rodriguez.

The insider noted that she was "in her element" when she and the former New York Yankees superstar were together and is "even starting to miss what she had with him."

Lopez and Rodriguez dated and got engaged before calling it off in April 2021. Although he has moved on with Canadian fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro, the insider said that their mutual friends are not so convinced, especially since "he's not married or engaged, so at this point, it's not beyond the realm that" Rodriguez and Lopez "could reconnect."

"He's got a girlfriend now, but J. Lo doesn't intend to stay single long, and she and A-Rod do have unfinished business," the source shared.

The "Jenny From The Block" singer's mom and sister are seemingly unhappy with the time she has wasted with Affleck and want her to move on quickly.

According to the Daily Mail, Lopez's mom, Guadalupe Rodriguez, is yearning for her to "cut her losses" and move on from the "Good Will Hunting" actor.

"Jennifer's mom told her, 'Cut your losses and move on to avoid getting any deeper in this mess,''' an insider shared.

The insider also noted that Guadalupe feels Lopez "wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor," adding that the actor "was not the person she built him up to be."

"It's taken too much of a toll on her, and because of this, she has lost sight of who she is and what she stands for," they added.

Lopez and Affleck had begun auctioning some prized possessions in their shared $60 million mansion. A source told Page Six that collectors and buyers purchased "art and some pieces" that were "newly on sale" from their house in an auction that took place in early June.

It comes after they placed the 12-bedroom Wallingford estate on the market for $65 million, with Affleck relocating into a $100k-a-month Brentwood rental home near his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their three children.

One source told People magazine that Lopez and Affleck "never" really liked their marital home as the "Good Will Hunting" actor thought it "too far away from his kids," while the "Ain't Your Mama" singer thought it "too big for her."
