Jon Rahm is going to have his own team in LIV Golf. The one from Barrika is going to be the captain and has put several names on the table to form his squad. What will Rahm’s quartet be? That is the million-dollar question and we are going to try to shed some light.

According to what TenGolf has been able to learn from LIV sources, Tony Finau would be one of Rahm’s choices. In fact, the conversations with the golfer born in Salt Lake City are quite advanced and he could become the first official announcement. Finau and Jon have a very good relationship and they often train together in Arizona. In addition, US media have reported in recent times that the 34-year-old golfer is going through some financial difficulties.

Another name that sounds strong, as this medium has been able to corroborate, is Tyrrell Hatton, Rahm’s dance partner in the Ryder Cup and one of the players with whom he has a better relationship. Negotiations with the English golfer are also underway and his incorporation should not be ruled out before the end of the year.

In the backstage of LIV, there are three other names that could join Rahm. One is Wyndham Clark, another of the players with whom Jon has a close relationship and with whom he often trains in Arizona. In addition, Nicolai Hojgaard, his other partner in the last Ryder Cup in Rome, and Brian Harman, the reigning champion of the Open Championship, have also been leaked. Obviously, only three of these five could join. Negotiations are underway and the players will have the final say. It is also not ruled out that other names will appear on the scene if an agreement is not reached with the first ones on the list.

As you can see, Jon’s wish is to gather in the same LIV team three of the four winners of the 2023 Majors: Masters (Jon), US Open (Clark) and Open Championship (Harman). It would undoubtedly be a great coup by LIV Golf, as let’s not forget that the fourth Major winner in 2023 was Brooks Koepka at the PGA Championship. If a Rahm team with Finau, Clark and Harman is confirmed, LIV Golf would have all the Major winners of this year in 2024.

Similarly, the incorporation of two players like Hatton and Hojgaard would add, if you know, a little more uncertainty to the future of the European Ryder Cup team. There are still two years until the next confrontation and many things can still happen. Going to LIV does not mean, in any case, that they cannot play the Ryder. It would depend on them maintaining their membership in the European Tour, achieving the necessary points to qualify or being handpicked by captain Luke Donald.
