- Andela has added a code playback feature to its Andela Talent Cloud (ATC) platform, an AI driven platform that matches global tech talents with hiring companies.
- The feature enables playback of candidates’ technical coding tests to improve hiring decisions and provide insights into the talent’s coding strategies and problem-solving approaches in real-time.
This new feature comes just eight months after Andela launched the Andela Talent Cloud in October 2023 to combine its private talent marketplace with an AI-driven platform, helping companies scale their teams and deliver projects faster.
According to Andela, the feature leverages technology from Qualified, a technical skills assessment platform.
Andela, whose talent ecosystem covers over 135 countries, including markets in Africa and Latin America, acquired Qualified in March 2023 for an undisclosed sum, before launching Andela Talent Cloud. At the time, Andela said that acquiring the company will enable it to identify, qualify, and certify top engineers.
According to Jeremy Johnson, Founder and CEO of Andela, Qualified enables the company to address inefficiencies — supply, demand, and quality that constrain the labour market — by supplying the certified right talent at the appropriate time.
Also, at the time it was looking to grow to include over 3.6 million engineering users.
Now, Andela has tapped the technology from Qualified to release its latest feature, the code playback feature. But, Andela noted that it has since incorporated the assessment platform into Andela Talent Cloud.
“With the code playback feature, Andela is providing organisations with enhanced tooling to assess candidates' skills and select top talent but also, as part of the overall evaluation process, to visualise how they apply their knowledge to solve coding challenges.”
Key functionality of the feature is that the coding tests within the platform are written the same way code production tests are and can call out events like a user exiting and returning to the window and external copying and pasting.
Following the release announcement, the new code playback feature is available to all Andela users using Andela Talent Cloud to source, qualify, hire, manage and pay global talent, Andela said.
