Resident Evil 4 joins Leon S. Kennedy six years after his hellish experiences in the biological disaster of Raccoon City. What really can I say about both versions of RE4 that already has Not! One would have to be an absolute scaredy-cat 🐈 not to embrace a game like this! Well I was too after that Chainsaw I thought ignoring the Chainsaw guy he’d move on only to be proven wrong horrifyingly! Taking everything about the original Resident Evil 4 and Acid Tripped it with the RE Engine cranking up to 11! IF YOU DARE it’s worth every freaking freak out moments! 😈!

Having played and completed RE4 on 3 systems, including VR on Oculus Quest, which was an amazing exoerience -- this is indeed the ultimate version of RE4 that we needed. The changes they added, this almost feels like a brand new installment. The new environments, enemy re-skins and just the graphics in general are stunning.

Most of all, after my experience on the Oculus which I loved, then RE Villiage on the PSVR2, I couldn't wait to revisit this remake in VR. Let me tell you, this is such an amazing VR experience and the re team at Capcom did a flawless job. I'm about 4 hours in and absolutely loving my VR journey. The game play is incredible! If you're a PSVR2 owner, you kinda have to buy this.

The original RE4 is the base for everything that came after, so unlike RE2RE to RE2, RE4RE doesn't feel nearly as different from RE4. I prefer a lot of what they do with the characters and writing in the remake, but it feels like they had a hard time trying to juggle a more down to earth tone like other recent titles with the iconic camp of the original. What you end up with is a really good game that's worth playing, but not exceptional enough to consider it a replacement of the original, nor unique enough to consider it wholly its own experience.

The gameplay is tight in the 3rd person view juat the same as the classic PS2 RE4. Bin ja eher ein Open-World-Shooter (Farcry, GTA5) und war von den z.T. eingeschränkten/vorgegebenen Pfaden anfangs etwas enttäuscht. Mit zunehmender Spieldauer wurde dieses vermeintliche Manko aber unwichtiger, da die Atmosphäre, die Kämpfe und die Rätsel mich zunehmend mehr fesselten.
