You can choose which apps will start when you log in to your Windows device. The apps might show in your taskbar or elsewhere—or the apps might start behind the scenes.

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Startup.Open Startup settings

Note: If you don’t see the Startup option in Settings, right-click (or select and hold) Start , select Task Manager, then select the Startup apps tab. (If you don’t see the Startup apps tab, select More details.) Right-click (or select and hold) the app you want to change, then select Enable to run it at startup or Disable so it doesn’t run.

  2. For any app in the list, select the toggle to set it to On.Shows an On/Off toggle and arrow icon on the Startup page in Settings.

  3. If you want to change the advanced settings for that app, select the arrow and make changes as desired.

If the app you want isn’t shown on the Startup page, see Add apps to the Startup page in Settings.

  • If you don’t see the Startup option in Settings, right-click (or select and hold) Start , select Task Manager, then select the Startup tab.
