Dear Metas,
We've noticed that a lot of you have shown a lot of interest in understanding how seasons work in Once Human. So let’s dive into some of the most pressing concerns about seasonal gameplay.

I. What are seasons?
In Once Human, each server has a gameplay theme, which is what we call the Seasonal Scenario. Each scenario offers different seasonal objectives or special gameplay mechanics.
We've crafted a range of seasonal objectives tailored to different scenarios, each packed with unique mechanics, environments, and content. Different scenarios may take place in different areas of the map, including map areas that have not yet been unlocked, and some scenarios will also feature a completely new storyline experience. As you navigate these scenarios, you'll have the thrilling choice to collaborate or compete with other players to achieve your seasonal goals. Once a season concludes, you can embrace a new challenge by joining a different scenario or taking on your current one with renewed vigor.
"After each season, you can sign up for the next scenario. Additionally, be on the lookout for two new scenarios launching later this year!"
a. A PvE scenario with new survival elements.
b. A PvP scenario centered around faction confrontations and agency.

II. What inspired these seasons?
With seasonal scenarios, we want to present players with more various gaming experiences so that the game has a little something for everyone no matter their gameplay style and preferences.

III. Once a new scenario begins, will I lose my previous progress?
We are aware that many players are concerned that their in-game progress will be reset in 6 weeks, but we are here to reassure you that
this will NOT happen! We value the time and effort you put into this game, so the items and gear you have obtained from the seasonal scenario will be retained in various ways.
(1) The following in-game content will be retained no matter how the seasons and servers change:
a. Important Currency: Starchroms, Crystgins, Mitsuko's Marks, Stellar Planula, and Sproutlets
b. Gear Blueprints (and their stars), Blueprint Fragments, Weapon Accessories, and Mods.
c. Furniture Formulas (except those gained through your Memetics)
d. Cosmetics, Expressions and Poses, Namecards, and more.
e. House Blueprints. After a House Blueprint is saved, you can reconstruct the building at any time (if advanced materials are not available, basic materials will be used in building instead).
f. Main story and side story task progress (for the tasks you've already completed, you can accept more streamlined versions of them in the new season but still get all the rewards).
g. Your friend list will fully carry over. Furthermore, you can check which players joined your Warband in the previous seasons and add them to your friend list.
(2) The following content and resources will only be partially carried over when you decide to enter a new season and start a new journey:
"Essential resources like materials, medicine, and ammunition can be carried over into a new season based on item transferring rules
so you can progress faster in the new season)."
In each new season, your character begins at Level 1, and all exploration progress on the World Map is reset. This ensures a level playing field for all players in the new season. Additionally, the new scenario will present a different map for exploration and rewards. Each seasonal server will also feature fresh challenges, tasks and rewards.

IV. Why does each scenario last six weeks?
Different scenarios have different durations. The two existing scenarios are 6 weeks in length. Future scenario seasons might have longer or shorter durations. There might also be some permanent scenarios for players to enjoy in the game.

We would like to take this opportunity to address concerns we’ve seen regarding the game’s privacy policy and confusion about the use of the NetEase Launcher.

Once Human takes our users’ data privacy very seriously. We would only use personal data if we have a legitimate legal basis, such as providing requested services or acting with your expressed consent. We will only use your data lawfully and reasonably and in accordance with local legal compliance requirements, while practicing the data privacy principles such as data minimization, purpose limitation, and transparency. We appreciate and welcome any and all feedback given by our players to help us improve.

Some players have expressed concern about the NetEase Launcher. This game launch platform offers broader access to games published by NetEase Games. Like some of our industry peers who run multiple games simultaneously, we hope that the launcher can provide convenient access to multiple NetEase's games for our users. However, please note you would only be required to download the launcher if you download Once Human from our official website. Players who play the game from Steam or Epic will NOT need to download or use the launcher.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion or uncertainty experienced by our players. We hope this clarifies the above and please rest assured that we will continue to maintain a transparent, player-friendly gaming environment, not only because it’s required by law, but also because it’s the right thing to do.

Multiple Character Creation Announcement

Dear Metas,

Based on player feedback, we have urgently opened up the functionality for multiple-character creation. You can now create characters on any server and embark on adventures with your friends.

Our initial decision to close multiple-character creation was due to the imperfect experience of playing with multiple characters. We had originally intended to update it after perfecting the multi-character play function by August 1, but unfortunately, it led to a poor gaming experience. We sincerely apologize for this.

Specific details will be synchronized in subsequent announcements.

1. Platforms and Servers
Q1: How many characters can I create on the same account?
A1: In response to user feedback, we have expedited the re-introduction of the multiple character creation feature. You are now able to create characters across all servers and embark on adventures alongside your companions.

The decision to temporarily disable multiple character creation was made due to the suboptimal gameplay experience associated with this feature. Originally, we aimed to re-enable this functionality following its refinement by August 1. Regrettably, this approach resulted in a diminished gaming experience, for which we extend our sincere apologies.

Q2: Are game accounts cross-platform? Can I play on multiple platforms?
A2: Once Human accounts are cross-platform. If you log in using the same account, you will gain access to your character, regardless of platform.
However, cross-platform support is not available for some account types, such as Steam accounts, due to their inherent limitations. We will be adding more account options in the future to make it easier for you to play across platforms. For now, please choose your platform based on your personal preferences.

Q3: Can I play with players on other platforms if I log in using Loading Bay?
A3: Of course you can! All platforms have access to the same servers. Whether you log in through Loading Bay, Steam, or any other platform, you will be able to play with your friends so long as you are all on the same server.

Q4: What are seasons in the game? And what are scenarios?
A4: Once Human has a season system. Each server only exists for a single season, and only has a single scenario. The content available on the server depends on its scenario. Every scenario offers different rules, environments, and stories to diversify your experience.
When your current server's season ends, you can move all resources and items you have earned during the season to your personal domain at Eternaland. You will then be able to register for another season.
To make things easier to understand, we will have two servers at launch: Manibus (PvE only) and Evolution's Call (includes PvP content). You are free to choose whichever server you prefer.
We have many scenarios in reserve and are currently developing new scenarios. Keep an eye out for later announcements regarding new scenarios, they should be coming very soon.

Q5: Which scenario should I choose, Manibus (PvE) or Evolution's Call (PvP)?
A5: To make things simple for new players, Manibus (PvE) and Evolution's Call (PvP) will be similar at launch, with basically the same rules, content, and story. The main differences are as follows.
1. Manibus (PvE) does not include any PvP content. You will be able to fight powerful monsters and experience open-world survival with your friends and at your own pace.
2. Evolution's Call (PvP) includes PvP content, such as Stronghold Conquest. Nearly all PvE content will also be available, so you will still be able to enjoy fighting fearsome entities.
Rewards in both scenarios are the same. You should choose your scenario based on whether or not you want to take part in PvP content.

Q6: Will I lose all my rewards and items when a season ends? If not, which items will I keep?
A6: At the end of a season, you get to keep important resources like Blueprints, Cosmetics, Furniture Formulas, and Weapon Accessories.
However, common resources, weapons, and items will be transferred to your personal domain, Eternaland, to maintain fairness. Some resources in Eternaland can be carried over to a new season, while others can be used to construct your personal domain.
Eternaland offers freedom for customization, and we plan to add more features to encourage user-generated content. You can design Eternaland as you like and invite friends to join in the fun.

2. System Requirements and Installation
Q1. What languages does Once Human currently support?
A1: At launch, the PC version of Once Human is available in English, German, French, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. We plan to add Russian and Spanish in September, and aim to support more languages in the future. Stay tuned for updates!
If you want the game to support your language, please let us know.

Q2: What are the minimum and recommended system requirements?
A2: The following requirements are a reference for playing Once Human at 1080p.

Q3: Why does Once Human require so much storage space and RAM?
A3: Once Human offers a high-quality audiovisual experience. This requires a large amount of storage space for HD images, textures, sound effects, and map files. Additionally, as an MMO survival game, we aim to render long viewing distances so that players can see structures in the world as far as possible. We are continuously working to optimize the game for the best possible experience. Thank you for your understanding.

Q4: Why can't I change the install location of Loading Bay?
A4: While trying to change Loading Bay's install location, you may receive no response when you click the Browse button. If this occurs, try deleting all Once Human and Loading Bay files from your device, then download and install them again.
If you have not previously installed Loading Bay, and receive no response when you click the Browse button to change the install location, then please contact us via the Customer Service channel in the Feedback section on our Discord server

Note: We are planning to release an update that will allow you to migrate the game files to a new location in the future. Stay tuned for more information!

Q5: The language I chose when installing Loading Bay is not available in Once Human. How do I fix this?
A5: When you install Loading Bay, you are asked to select a language for the launcher. However, Once Human has separate language settings available inside the game. We are working on adding more supported languages. Thank you for your understanding.

Q6: Why can't I switch to a different Loading Bay account?
A6:If you wish to switch to a different game account, you must first log out of your current Loading Bay account, then log in using your new account. We will continue to optimize account features to make it easier to switch accounts in the future.

Q7: When I click the Download button, nothing happens. How do I fix this?
A7: Check if you are using a VPN. If so, disable the VPN, then restart the client and re-download Once Human.

Q8: What should I do if the game fails to download or install?
A8: Check if your network connection is stable and that your device meets the minimum requirements. Try restarting the client or deleting all game files, then reinstall Once Human. If the issue persists, contact Customer Service in the Feedback section on our Discord server.
Tip: Before installing Once Human, check if you have sufficient storage space on the installation drive to avoid any problems with installing the game.

Q9: I get a low frame rate when playing Once Human. What should I do?
A9: Try reducing the game's graphics settings to increase the frame rate. For instance,
a) Lower the resolution.
b) Lower special effects or texture quality.
c) Lower the rendering quality or other settings.
You can find these settings by pressing [ESC] → [Settings] → [Graphics] → [Performance].

Q10: My device exceeds Once Human's minimum system requirements. Why am I still getting slow performance in the game?
A10: Even if your device exceeds Once Human's minimum system requirements, slow performance could result from several factors. Try reducing graphics settings such as texture quality to improve the game's performance.
If you encounter slowdown during your playthrough, report it to our Customer Service in the Feedback section on our Discord server.

Q11: The game keeps crashing. How do I fix it?
A11: If the game keeps crashing or if you encounter any graphical errors, try updating your drivers or repairing the game client. If the issue persists, go to Customer Service in the Feedback section on our Discord server, and we will assist you as soon as possible.
Certain controllers, such as pedals and gearbox controls for driving games, or joysticks for flying games, may cause compatibility errors with Once Human. If you have any such controllers attached, try disconnecting them.

Q12: How do I give feedback if I encounter any problems?
A12: Visit https://discord.gg/ryyy9GtP to join our official Discord server, then send your feedback to our Customer Service in the Feedback section on our Discord server.
Method 1: Go to Customer Service in the Feedback section on our Discord server and follow the instructions.

Method 2: Join our official Discord server, click on [Show Member List] in the top right corner, then click [Once Human Game Support] to send us a direct message.

Q13. Will Once Human support DLSS at launch?

Once Human does not support DLSS at launch due to the ongoing optimization and integration of certain features. However, DirectX 12 is supported, although it might result in a slight frame drop compared to DirectX 11.

Q14. Will Once Human support controllers and Steam Deck at launch?

Due to ongoing technical adjustments, Once Human does not support controllers and Steam Deck at launch. Our development team is actively working on changes to bring controller support as soon as possible. We expect to complete this by August.

3. In-game Rewards
Q1: Will there be any launch rewards for the official release?
A1: In celebration of Once Human making it to the top five on Steam's Global Top Wishlist, all players will receive milestone rewards.

Q2: How do I claim my rewards for participating in the CBT?
A2: Lightforge Medals will be delivered to the mailbox of your first character. Other rewards, such as Cosmetics and Avatars, will be sent to the email address you provided as Redemption Codes. You can then redeem these codes in the game.
Note: Lightforge Medals can only be redeemed to the same account used during the CBT. If you encounter any issues, contact us via the in-game Customer Service.

Q4: What free cosmetics and rewards are available during the launch period?
A4: You can obtain all weapons and gear in the game for free. Additionally, you can unlock over 700 rewards as you explore the expansive 256 square kilometers open world. These rewards include 400 unique weapons and weapon accessories, 200 building modules, 100 armor types, and numerous cosmetic items. 4. For Veteran Players
Q1: I lost my Redemption Code from Steam Next Fest. Can I recover it or receive a new one?
A1: No, we are unable to re-send Redemption Codes.

Q2: I have an existing installation of Once Human. Do I need to delete it before downloading the official release?
A2: Yes, you will need to delete previous game versions and launchers and re-download the game.

Q: How do I report rule violations by other players? How do I appeal if I've been falsely reported by other players?
A: You can report cheating or other violations on our official Discord server. Visit https://discord.gg/oncehuman and join our Discord server, then file the report using the Anti-cheat Bot.
After joining our Discord server, click the [Show Member List] button in the top right corner, click [Anti-cheat Bot], and send a direct message to file the report.
Provide as much information as possible to help us verify and address the issue quickly.

Closed Beta Test 3 Announcement

Greetings Metas,

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of Once Human's Closed Beta Test 3, scheduled to begin on April 3rd 2024,and extend for approximately 42 days, maintaining the duration of the previous test.

Access Details:

All returning players from the previous beta will automatically have access to the upcoming test using their existing login accounts.
New players are encouraged to stay tuned to our Discord for the launcher pre-download. Pre-downloading the launcher ensures participation in this beta. The pre-download phase will initiate several days before the beta launch and will close upon reaching 150K downloads.

Mobile Version Inclusion:

This beta will include the mobile version (both Android and IOS) in a small test scale due to the early integration phase of the mobile version. Access to the mobile version is exclusive and separate from PC access. Interested players can apply for mobile version access now on our official website.
Players can continue playing the same character from PC on the mobile version, and can also interact with their cross-platform friends.

Server Expansion and Language Support:

In this beta, we are excited to introduce Europe servers along with new language support for French and German, catering to a broader player base.

New Features:

The beta will showcase the Enternaland feature and unveil the new Script of a new game season, offering an enhanced and immersive gaming experience. More awesome new gameplay to be revealed later.

ONCE HUMAN March Beta test with new trailer and new Mobile version

As always, thank you for being part of this developing journey with us. We're thrilled to announce the March Beta test and share our new multiplayer trailer! Additionally, we're excited to reveal the new Mobile version.
A new gameplay trailer The trailer showcases various survival adventures in an anomalous world, where players can utilize firearms and supernatural abilities to fend off powerful Aberrant creatures. It also introduced exciting new features like the new Deviant gameplay. In addition to the trailer, we're excited to unveil our plans for a beta test on both PC and a brand new mobile version of the game, scheduled to start on March 28th, 2024.
We can't wait for players to have new adventures in our world!

New Trailer:

Once Human is an SCP-inspired multiplayer open-world survival game, where teams of players use firearms and supernatural abilities to survive against the unknowable and powerful Aberrant creatures that threaten the last remnants of mankind. Players must band together to unite survivors, rebuild the territory, and uncover the mysteries of their enemies, or risk destruction.

Our game is currently ranked #2 on the STEAM wishlist for most anticipated multiplayer online survival game. It garnered significant player attention during its last Beta, with over 300,000 sign-ups within a week, and has so far garnered more than 330,000 Discord community members.

New feature, new monster and new area available for upcoming Beta
A variety of innovative gameplay elements will show up in our new Beta. These include new monsters showcased in the trailer, featuring a creature with a drill bit head, as well as other formidable new bosses.

Additionally, Metas can explore the much-anticipated Eternaland, a new personalized area where they have the freedom to construct diverse buildings, territories, and puzzle-solving. Furthermore, following the advice of players in the previous Beta, a brand-new PVP season will make its debut in this upcoming test!

The new beta would also include the newly added Deviant gameplay, hints of which are hidden in the newly released trailer.

New trailer demonstrates multiplayer gameplay and reveals hidden clue
With the announcement of the Beta, we released an exciting new trailer, which demonstrates the numerous in-game multiplayer gameplay modes available as players team up to explore the anomalous world and gather resources to build their shelter. They can also delve into aberration-ridden caves, board long-legged buses in search of treasure, and defend their territory from monsters alongside their comrades.

At the end of the video, our Metas is accompanied by a magic alpaca, who instantly produces a rabbit from a hat that can be used as a food source, making people wonder if this could be a clue that a pet or companion gameplay will be coming in the future.
