Is Stephon Castle the San Antonio Spurs point guard of the future?

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Is No. 4 overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft Stephon Castle the San Antonio Spurs point guard of the future? Or should the Spurs have veteran floor general Chris Paul start at the 1 for at least the first part of the looming 2024-25 NBA season?

There is even a chance that San Antonio’s coaching staff have no intention whatever to play the UConn star at the point. This despite what he said about wanting to develop that aspect of his game before the Spurs took him in this year’s draft. But we expect to see the former Husky man the point at least part-time next season.

The question is whether he gets thrown directly into the fire. The host of the “Locked On Spurs” podcast, Jeff Garcia, sat down with guest Jack Thompson, formerly of San Antonio Sports Star, to talk it over. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say.
