Spurs agree to deal with future Hall of Famer Chris Paul in free agency

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The San Antonio Spurs have made their first big move in free agency. In an effort to continue to grow around superstar big man Victor Wembanyama, the franchise needed a veteran floor general who can run the pick-and-roll and make things easier for Wemby and everybody else on the floor.

That guy has proven to be Chris Paul. The Spurs have agreed to a deal to bring Paul to San Antonio and will look to him to help the franchise take another leap in the Western Conference standings.

In a down year with the Golden State Warriors, Paul averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 37.1% from deep. He should do wonders for the Spurs to help them take the next step in their rebuild.

Paul is a 12-time All-Star and is one of the elite floor generals the NBA has ever seen. He has obviously lost a step, but he can still be a starting point guard in the NBA.
