Below is a sampling of Volunteer Opportunities available at Sportsmen’s. We are also willing to create a custom volunteer experience that is a good fit for the program. If you have suggestions that could benefit our Sportsmen’s community, let’s discuss it.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

(COVID-19 Regulations friendly)

Enrichment Specialist
Do you have a skill or a hobby you could teach the youth? Do you play an instrument or crochet? The School to Sportsmen’s After School Program would love to have you come and share it with our youth. Scheduled sessions could happen between 3:00pm – 5:00pm Monday – Thursday.

Reading Friend
Come share a story with our youth. Reading aloud is a great way to help students improve their reading skills. You can bring your favorite book or pick one from our library. You can read to students one-on-one or in small groups.

Transition Buddy
Helping our students navigate safely through the building. You might be a bathroom assistant, walking our students down to tennis other activities throughout the building.

Help with an Event
Examples:

  • Annual Fall Tennis Ball (solicit auction items, recruit sponsors, help with back of the house organization, etc.)
  • Exhibitions (help plan and organize event, help with set up and break down of space, recruit attendees, etc.)

Participate in fundraising activities
Examples:

  • Rodman Ride for Kids

Summer Camp

Bathroom Monitor
With COVIC-19 regulation, Bathroom monitors are needed to ensure that following the rules, washing hands properly, etc.

Clean Team Member
Constant sanitizing is yet another job that needs to be completed during the day while camp is in session. Junior counselors help get the work done but all help is needed and appreciated.

Helping our students complete homework and strengthen academic skills while in our program. Our students thrive with the assistance of caring adults.

Academic Specialists
Are you a former teacher? We would love your help in developing academic assessments and learning plans for our students. You might have resources that could greatly benefit our students, and staff.

Host an Event
Examples:

  • Organize a tennis clinic
  • Host a social event in your home
  • Bring a friend for a tour of Sportsmen’s
