Sportsmen’s relies on philanthropic support and revenue-based instructional tennis to pay for all of the free programs it offers to low-income and minority youth and adults.

In Phase I of our Capital Campaign, we raised $6M to fund the construction of a four court indoor tennis facility, increasing our indoor capacity by nearly 60%, which will allow us to offer more free and subsidized play and coaching and implement a wider array of fee for service programs and tournaments.

In Phase II, we are raising $12M to further expand our facilities and programming. Phase II of the Capital Campaign is divided into six key pillars, as outlined below:

COMMUNITY – championing accessibility and safety, while expanding Summer Camp and the Outdoor Playspace;

ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITY AND EXCELLENCE – further expanding facilities and service offerings through the addition of two outdoor stadium courts;

EDUCATION – doubling our current classroom space to increase after-school and weekend education, mentoring, and project-based and online learning;

EQUITY AND INCLUSION – permanently housing Breaking the Barriers, the nationally renowned pictorial exhibit, chronicling the history of Black Tennis in the United States from the early 1900s to the present;

HEALTH AND WELLNESS – adding 3,500 square feet of fitness space for health and wellness programming;

THE BUD COLLINS TENNIS WELCOME CENTER – creating new meeting and office space, a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen and pro shop.

Your gift today will help us build for the future, serving more youth, adults and families than ever before!
