Addison was reportedly asleep behind the wheel of a white Rolls Royce on I-105 in Los Angeles when a California Highway Patrol office arrived on the scene. The talented second-year receiver was subject to a DUI investigation and subsequently taken into custody for a two-hour period before being released. Potential league discipline will be a factor to consider as the legal process plays out.

The left tackle will be playing on his rookie deal through 2025 after having his fifth-year option picked up in April, but both sides are interested in having Darrisaw remain in Minnesota for the long haul. The 23rd overall pick in the 2021 Draft also now has Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, and Rosenhaus has an excellent relationship with the Vikings' front office. With no incentive to get a deal done quickly, however, the team will likely make extending Darrisaw a priority after the 2024 campaign.

Jefferson was the consensus first overall pick in fantasy football heading into the 2023 season, but he dropped to the second round of Friday's mock draft before being scooped up by Stephania Bell. The star wide receiver was limited to 10 appearances in 2023, but his average of 107.4 receiving yards per game was actually higher than Jefferson's 106.4 during the 2022 regular season, when he led the NFL with 1,809 receiving yards. Concerns about Minnesota's quarterback situation are dragging down Jefferson's fantasy stock, as the Vikings are poised to roll out Sam Darnold or rookie 10th overall pick J.J. McCarthy under center.

Cashman referred to McCarthy, whom the Vikings selected with the 10th overall pick out of Michigan in April's draft, as "a great young man," and also called the rookie a natural leader and eager learner. Turner is coming off an impressive college career with the Crimson Tide that included 22.5 sacks and 32.5 total tackles for loss over three seasons, and Reuter feels it won't take long for the edge rusher to start manifesting similar success at the NFL level. Reuter predicts Turner will already be a "defensive force" by the middle of his rookie campaign and will graduate from an early designated pass-rush role early to a more well-rounded one once he proves he can stop the run and drop into zone coverage effectively.

Entering his fifth pro campaign, Greenard is coming off a productive 2023, when he registered 52 tackles, including 12.5 sacks, two pass deflections and one forced fumble over 15 regular-season games. His sack total last season was tied for 10th in the league with Montez Sweat. Greenard's output last season earned him a four-year, $72 million contract with the Vikings in March, and Orr believes the 2020 third-round pick out of Florida will take his play up a level in the scheme of defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

With K.J. Osborn departing for New England in free agency, the WR3 battle is seemingly between Nailor, Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield. The struggle for Nailor, who was taken in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, has been his availability, as he was limited to just six games in 2023 due to multiple injuries, including a concussion that landed him on the IL at the end of the season. A strong showing in training camp could give Nailor the edge as the third wideout behind Jefferson and Addison.

Romo has the stronger leg of the two kickers, but he has been far less consistent in OTAs and minicamp. Reichard, whom Minnesota selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, has the upper hand heading into training camp, though Romo could still close the gap by showcasing improved accuracy in training camp and the preseason. Neither kicker has attempted a kick in an NFL game.

Per Lewis, Reichard "was everything the Vikings hoped he'd be this spring - and then some." Reichard doesn't have as strong of a leg as John Parker Romo, but the former's consistency has him leading Minnesota's kicking competition heading into training camp. If Reichard continues to impress, the Vikings may not feel the need to bring in additional competition despite the rookie sixth-round draft pick's lack of experience.

While Justin Jefferson was away from the team during negotiations on his contract extension, Addison took full advantage of the opportunity to work as the team's top wideout. The 2023 first-round pick out of USC also showed up in April physically stronger than he'd been as a rookie, an important development given his small frame even though Addison didn't miss a game in his first NFL campaign. The production from Minnesota's passing attack will depend on either Sam Darnold or J.J. McCarthy emerging as a viable replacement for Kirk Cousins, but whoever wins the starting quarterback job will have an elite wide receiver duo to target in Jefferson and Addison.

McCarthy will presumably be ahead of Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall, although O'Connell emphasized there was not an official depth chart put together yet. However, what does seem clear is Darnold outperformed his other three position mates by an appreciable degree this spring, but McCarthy has had his moments as well and seems to be taking a level-headed approach to any struggles. "I'm trying to maintain that trajectory of going up and up," McCarthy said. "Just attacking every day with a growth mindset, and it's been doing me well so far."

O'Connell naturally didn't project any depth chart slotting beyond that statement, simply saying he was planning for a "competitive" camp at multiple positions. O'Connell explained his decision was largely based on Darnold's strong spring and his experience, but added he'd also emphasized to all four quarterbacks on the roster that depth charts don't dictate the future.

According to Lewis, Minnesota's coaching staff was blown away by Tonyan in workouts prior to the team signing him. Tonyan has continued to increase his stock with strong showings in minicamp. He has a chance to open the season atop Minnesota's tight end depth chart if T.J. Hockenson's recovery from a torn ACL lingers into the season.

Chandler has been impressing at minicamp and could earn a sizable role at Jones' expense, especially since Chandler is already familiar with coach Kevin O'Connell's offensive scheme. Jones signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Vikings in the offseason after starting 85 games for the Packers. Chandler started the last four games of the season for Minnesota in 2023.

Chandler spent most of his first two NFL seasons in a backup role but played well as a starter over the final four games of 2023, rushing for 258 yards and two touchdowns while adding 69 receiving yards over that span. Jones is expected to open the season atop the depth chart after signing a one-year, $7 million contract with the Vikings in free agency, but Minnesota's coaching staff could opt for more of a platoon between the 26-year-old Chandler and the 29-year-old Jones.
