Arizona High School Sports Awards

The Arizona High School Sports Awards is an athletic recognition program honoring the area’s top-performing athletes, coaches and teams. The nine-month program, selecting and announcing nominees each season, culminates in an in-person awards show where winners are announced and special awards are given. Attendance to the June awards show is complimentary for nominated athletes, thanks to our presenting and partner sponsors, as well as for their family, friends, and supporters, courtesy of our ticketing sponsor, but tickets must be redeemed. Tickets include a carpet walk and photos, awards presentation and inspirational talk with a special guest professional athlete.

Appearing LIVE at this year’s Arizona High School Sports Awards will be none other than Rising NFL Star and Arizona Cardinals’ Tight End, Trey McBride. At the event, he will provide an inspirational talk with a question and answer session.

About Trey McBride

A Colorado native, Trey grew up in Fort Morgan, CO and attended Fort Morgan High School. An all-around athlete, he competed in baseball, basketball, and football. He still holds his high school records for points scored in basketball, and career home runs and runs batted in in baseball. 247Sports considered him a three-star recruit where he accepted a scholarship offer from Colorado State over other top D1 schools to play football. Competing for Colorado State for four years, Trey received numerous accolades for both his academic and athletic achievements including being named an Academic All-Mountain West Conference selection and Academic All-Colorado his freshman year. After completing his first full season as a starter his sophomore year, Trey was named first team All-Mountain West. Capping off a stellar senior year, Trey was named to the 2021 All-Mountain West first team, was awarded the John Mackey Award (presented annually to college football’s most outstanding tight end), was named the first unanimous All-American in Colorado State football history, and received an invitation to the Senior Bowl. The Arizona Cardinals selected Trey in the second round (55th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had a breakout second NFL season where he led all tight ends in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving yards per game since Week 9. He finished the 2023 NFL regular season ranked in the top seven in receptions (81) and receiving yards (825) among tight ends. Now in his third season, 2024 will be his first as a full-time starter where he’ll be looking to solidify his role as one of Kyler Murray’s top targets.
