Slate’s Mistakes for the Week of May 20

In a May 19 How to Do It, Rich Juzwiak recommended DoxyPEP to a letter writer who was presumably a cis woman. The treatment is currently recommended only for men who have sex with men and transgender women.

In a May 19 Life, Luke Winkie misstated that a 73-year-old patient died after receiving FMT from OpenBiome. The stool came from a hospital-based stool bank. In another instance, six people, not four, became ill following stool transplants.

In a May 18 Downtime, Matthew Herskowitz misstated that Sniffies began in 2018 as a underwear and sock brand. It started as an underwear trading platform and transitioned to its current model in 2018.
