Slate’s Mistakes for the Week of March 11

In a March 13 Politics, Shirin Ali misspelled the surname of John Avlon as Avalon.

In a March 12 Jurisprudence, Steve Kennedy cited the 9th Circuit case Big Sandy Rancheria of Western Mono Indians v. Brownstone as being implicated by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. It was not.

In a March 11 Industry, Becky Robison misstated that we is second-person plural. It is first-person plural.

In a March 8 Politics, Allison Chapman misstated that the Women’s Liberation Front pushes anti-abortion stances. It supports women’s reproductive autonomy. Chapman also misstated that the Independent Women’s Forum is known for pushing anti-abortion stances and promoting a Christian nationalist agenda. The IWF does not have an official position on abortion and does not view its agenda to be Christian nationalist.
