S akou vojenskou pomocou zo strany NATO môže Ukrajina počítať? Ako prebieha schvaľovanie nových členov NATO? Na tieto a ďalšie otázky odpovedal v relácii HNOnline Doslova expert GLOBSECu a bývalý minister obrany Martin Sklenar. 📺 Celý rozhovor nájdete tu: https://lnkd.in/deWMBYkW

Young Europeans care deeply about the EU and value #democracy, yet often feel excluded. In our recent activities in collaboration with ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy), European Movement Ireland and IDM Institut für den Donauraum und Mitteleuropa/Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe in Austria, Greece, Ireland, and Slovakia, we brought together young leaders to share their perspectives. Youth engagement is essential and will be a decisive factor in the future development of the Union. Let’s make sure young people are not only heard but also included in shaping our collective future! #euact2 #FundedByTheEuropeanUnion

🌍 On July 10, 2024, GLOBSEC and the European Policy Centre hosted a vital policy dialogue in Brussels titled "EU's post-elections trajectory: What is the role of citizens and civil society?" ✨ With 47 participants from 17 countries, the event explored the future of the #EU, focusing on citizens' participation, civil society's role, and key priorities for the next European Commission. Key takeaways included the importance of a bottom-up approach, engaging young people in democracy, and strengthening the connection between citizens and the EU. The event reviewed the #EUact2 project, conducted in collaboration with partners from ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy), European Movement Ireland and the IDM Institut für den Donauraum und Mitteleuropa/Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe. 👉 Dive into the details: bit.ly/4d0LkcT #CivilSociety #EUdialogue

A new edition of our #CEEHer Workshop was recently held in Vienna, brining together eight talented young women professionals from the Western Balkans for an enriching three-day training. The program featured discussions with prominent women leaders and experts in politics, foreign affairs, and media, along with brainstorming and growth sessions, and ample networking opportunities. Throughout, they addressed topics related to security, enlargement, education, social affairs and more in the Western Balkans. We are incredibly grateful to Sanam Shantyaei, Sintija Oskalne, Karoline Edtstadler, and Ursula Plassnik for sharing their inspiring success stories and invaluable insights. Special thanks to European Forum Alpbach and European Democracy Youth Network for their essential support in organizing this event. Read the summary of our workshop here: https://bit.ly/3SdBJr9

⚖️ Romanian youth challenge the typical view that younger generations lean democratic. They support LGBT+ rights and see NGOs as beneficial for #democracy, yet also view these organizations as foreign agents and think the #totalitarian rule would be good for their country. 🧐 Curious about the factors driving these perspectives? 💭 Is the #EU ready to defend itself? This critical question was at the heart of the #NATOPublicForum panel with High Representative Josep Borrell and Heather A. Conley of the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The discussion highlighted that: - The EU must boost its defense capabilities, yet #NATO remains irreplaceable. - Europe should at the same time build its own capacities and work on a European security pillar within NATO. - War has evolved. It's no longer just about tanks invading territories, but also #disinformation infiltrating our minds. We need new defenses for these new forms of warfare. - The EU's role is vital in defending against these new threats.
