Collective Lending Platform is Impact Initiative of the Year at the 2020 Environmental Finance IMPACT Awards

With 12 successful funding operations, which contributed to mobilize R$5.6 million for a positive socio-environmental impact, the Impact Crowd Lending Platform Sitawi was the big winner of the 2020 Environmental Finance IMPACT Awards, in the Impact Initiative of the Year category in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This is the first edition of the award that seeks to recognize and reward the work of impact investors globally, and to highlight best practices and thought leadership across all asset classes around the world. The award follows the launch earlier this year of a section of the Environmental Finance website dedicated to impact investing, seeking to identify trends that are shaping this rapidly expanding field.

Winners were chosen by a 12-judge panel of impact investors from around the world, based on information covering the period between April 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020.

“We know who the entrepreneur is, what kind of project is being done, what the money is being used for. This is what I thought was cool: knowing who my money is going to and knowing that it will be used for something worthwhile, in which we believe.”
Maria Eugênia Taborda – Investor

“Considering the difficulties in accessing credit for small and medium-sized companies in the Brazilian market, having this support from Sitawi for the entrepreneur who focuses on the impact it is very good because in addition to having access to a credit that does not exist in the traditional market, it is also a credit with a view that values you for the impact that you as an entrepreneur are bringing to the world and that is recognition incredible. This is combined with the investor's awareness of the potential to impact lives of this capital. Interest rates are affordable and below market but on the other hand, it is a resource for growth, ideal for a medium-term plan as the process of analysis and disbursement requires good financial planning.?
Filipe Aguiar – Entrepreneur at Orgânicos In Box
