If you live in Cleveland, you’ve heard about problems with landlords who live out of town or even out of state. But what about landlords who live 6,000 miles away?

Signal Cleveland’s Nick Castele and April Urban spent months tracing hundreds of property sale records and sifting through court and business records from here to Sweden to understand the impact investors have on Clevelanders. This week hear from tenants, neighbors and the investors as part of our series “Cleveland for Sale.” We will publish the first story tomorrow. In the meantime, hear more from Nick about the story.

Also, here are a few items to keep in mind this week:

Documenters are set to cover the meeting, and you can follow along on YouTube at 6:30 p.m.

On Friday, June 28, Myesha Watkins, the executive director of Cleveland Peacemakers Alliance, will speak at the City Club of Cleveland about community-based approaches to violence intervention. The forum starts at 11:30 a.m. Find additional details here. We’ll be there as a community partner.
