Executive Director at American - Hellenic Chamber of Commerce

Last week marked an extraordinarily successful period for American - Hellenic Chamber of Commerce as we participated in the annual meeting of AmChams in Europe in the US. With robust engagement from over 30 Chambers, this year's five-day program was rich with enlightening meetings in both Washington DC and Miami. During the initial leg of our journey in DC, we engaged with top executives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the US State Department, the US Department of Commerce, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Atlantic Council, and APCO. Furthermore, we took part in the Transatlantic Conference organized by the US Chamber of Commerce and were graciously hosted at a reception by the EU Embassy in the US to mark the conference and the unveiling of the 2024 Transatlantic Economy report. The central themes of our discussions encompassed the trajectory of Transatlantic economic and business relations amidst the latest geopolitical and economic developments, the significance of the upcoming elections in the EU and US, potential outcomes, deliberations from recent Trade and Technology Council meetings, the implications of the Inflation Reduction Act and the Chips and Science Act on both US and European businesses and economies, and the pathway to a green transition. Following our time in DC, our delegation proceeded to Miami for a two-day itinerary. There, we had the privilege of meeting with the leadership of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, senior executives of Royal Caribbean Group, and representatives from the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Additionally, we enjoyed an insightful tour of the innovative hospitality concept offered by the 1Hotel. Undoubtedly, it was a profoundly enriching and enlightening week for our AmCham, as well as for my colleagues from European AmChams, characterized by an overwhelmingly positive atmosphere throughout the trip. I feel privileged to have shared views and experiences with a group of individuals whom I not only regard as colleagues but also as good friends and partners. Within the ACE network, we have forged strong bonds and friendships, of which each of us is immensely proud. A heartfelt thank you is due to all my colleagues from the European AmChams who participated in this mission. This marked the first ACE mission to the US organized by AmCham GR since assuming the Vice Chairmanship and the Secretariat of ACE at the beginning of the year. I must acknowledge the exceptional efforts of my colleagues at AmCham GR who diligently planned and executed such a comprehensive program.
