Our Biothane Handsfree Leash Adapter a separate item that converts any Strange Tails leash into handsfree mode!��It's adjustable so that it can be worn both around the waist or across the body.
Our double ‘O' ring adjustment mechanism is super secure, and prevents the adapter from cinching tight when your dog pulls, or becoming loose while being active.
We recommend pairing our handsfree adapter with our 4ft leashes.
Our handsfree adapter is not intended as a training tool and is recommended for pups who already have a foundation of good leash walking skills.
We wanted to create a product that could build upon the existing versatility offered by our leashes. With our leash and handsfree adapter system, there are a wide range of configurations including:

Biothane is a coated webbing material that is strong, flexible and lightweight.
It's also waterproof, doesn't smell and is and stain resistant, making it extremely easy to care for and clean. This makes it our material of choice for pups that love to swim or get dirty!
We use the "Super Heavy" Biothane for all of our leashes, handsfree adapters and classic collars which has a substantial and luxe feel to it. Our adjustable quick release collars and martingale collars use the "Standard" Biothane.
One of the best things about Biothane is how easy it is to care for and clean. Simply soak your gear in warm soapy water as needed. You can use an old toothbrush to scrub away any stubborn dirt. Rinse away any remaining dirt and soap residue with clean water.
Solid brass hardware naturally oxidizes as it ages. It can leave tarnish marks against the biothane, especially on the lighter colours.
To remove tarnish marks, we recommend using a magic eraser or a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Please ensure to thoroughly rinse your product with soap and water before using your gear again.
While Biothane is easy to clean, it does still get dirty. Please keep in mind that lighter colours will show dirt and tarnish marks more easily, and will require more frequent cleaning to keep looking fresh!
It's important to connect the handsfree adapter properly, both to ensure the safety of your dog, as well as your comfort.
To connect the hands free adapter, adjust it to the desired length and clip the trigger snap on the adapter to the furthest O-ring on the adapter. It should look like a circle if you lay it flat. You can clip it across your body or around your waist.
The leash should be fully extended when connected to the handsfree adapter, as illustrated in the below photo. The trigger snap on the leash attaches to the same O-ring that the trigger snap on the adapter attaches to.
Do not attach the trigger snap on the leash onto the trigger snap on the adapter. Do not clip the D-ring on the handle onto the O-ring of the adapter.
Doing so may cause the leash to become unclipped from the handsfree adapter and may cause damage to the hardware.
