The Manager, Editorial and Communications is responsible for managing the company’s content platforms and publications. This includes supervision to the design team to optimise digital content to engage various target audiences in alignment with business direction.

Role Accountabilities

  • Manage and provide leadership for content, design and communication.
  • Lead an editorial team comprising both in-house and remote talent.
  • Create an integrated content strategy so that produced content is not just limited to print but can also be used on digital channels.
  • Manage in-house publications from planning to fruition. These include the magazines, which are targeted at Junior College, Polytechnic, and University students as well as fresh graduates. This not just includes strategizing and planning but shall also include related vendor management to optimize cost and bringing efficacy to the process.
  • Conduct face-to-face interviews to craft advertorials
  • Curate topics and angles, and develop editorial calendar
  • Report writing for in-house surveys. These include Scholarship & Higher Education survey and Employers of Choice Survey.
  • To review the online statistics for online articles, EDM and eMagazines to measure effectiveness of article and understand readers’ preferences.
  • Be a strategic key player in maintaining close working relationships with inter-departments and external strategic partners.
  • Develop and manage partnership with PR agencies, news portals, bloggers, freelancers, and external stakeholders
  • Assist in producing content and designs for ad-hoc marketing collaterals of our products and services

Qualification Requirement (Technical & Experience)

  • Minimum Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related disciplines with 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in people management
  • Experience in drafting and editing articles for various platforms (publication, marketing, eNewsletter, press release, social media, etc.)
  • Preferably with copywriting experience, particularly in advertorials
  • Demonstrates an affinity for digital content with proven success in identifying viral stories
  • Ability to work under and adhere to tight deadlines
