The Data Analyst will help develop, evaluate, and test business intelligence visualizations and reports. Source system analysis, data modelling, business measure development, and report/visualization formatting. Providing technical recommendations and options to management from a data perspective is a key responsibility. The position must also focus on keeping current on data technologies important to the data journey and be able to provide relevant data domain knowledge.


Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as subject matter expert in Greystar Asia Pacific Data & Analytics function.
  • Evaluate business needs and objectives and conduct complex data analysis and report on results.
  • Organize raw data from multiple data sources and prepare data models for analysis, interpretation and reporting. This may require data cleaning and preprocessing.
  • Build prototypes and create meaningful reports and dashboards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data sources, methodologies, transformations, and any modifications made during the analysis process.
  • Continuously seek and explore ways to improve visualizations such that business users who are non-technical could understand the findings and/or derive insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide analysis to support decision making.
  • Proactively identifies data quality issues and works with business and technology stakeholders to resolve these issues.
  • Acts as APAC representation within Global Data & Analytics Governance Framework.
  • Effectively communicate relevant IT related information to customers, vendors, manager and other internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as the liaison between business and technology to bridge the gap for understanding the overall business goal and value with currently available and new data assets.
  • Handle sensitive data responsibly and comply with data privacy policies. You will play a key role in upholding data governance practices and ensuring data security throughout your work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.


Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Follow established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).
  • Demonstrate appropriate safe behaviors in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor/resident injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).
  • Identify areas for improvement, offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity, and implements ideas that achieve operational excellence.
  • Keep abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes.


Role Scope:

  • Report to Senior Director, APAC Technology
  • Have accountability for the successful management of Greystar Asia Pacific data ecosystems and participate in and lead technical implementation, upgrade, production support, and maintenance activities that support data business operations.
  • Engage closely and frequently with Greystar Regional and International teams to ensure alignment of common working practices and international standards are defined and adhered to.


Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service and Workspaces, Power Query, DAX, Data Modeling, and related technologies.
  • Technical experience in Power BI composite, multi-dimensional models, row level security a plus.
  • Proficient in SQL and/or R, Python
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to prepare and explain data and analytics to team members.


Experience & Skills:

  • A proven track record in managing and optimizing data ecosystems within property, hospitality, retail or leisure sector including budget accountability. Fast growth, acquisition and multi-site experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work with large data sets/volumes including the ability to segment data.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and translating business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Experience in testing and data quality practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at problem-solving taking a broad perspective to identify or participate in defining solutions
  • Significant experience in managing contracts, services and external resource providers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and effectively communicate highly-technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
  • Expertise of optimizing data and processes in a multilingual / currency environment.
  • A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives.
  • Excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize workload and show good judgment under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with impact and influence.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness; an understanding the cycle of business change and the critical need to engage with stakeholders throughout changes.
