About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a motivated writer, editor and content strategist to help our clients tell their story through myriad different channels. This individual will work across practices to create compelling narratives that intersect with the news agenda. Our editors know what makes a story both compelling and relevant to its target audience – whether in a blog article, social post, video, podcast, or in a presentation. Our team thinks and operates differently than what you’d expect at an agency, and we pride ourselves on it.

This individual will be responsible for writing, content creation, publishing, managing editorial calendars and assisting with client assignments, strategies, and editorial development. Candidates must have proven news judgment and writing skills, with digital publishing experience preferred. The ability to work both collaboratively and independently will be critical.

You are driven by setting high expectations and exceeding them, always.

We are looking for someone who has a thorough knowledge of the media landscape, ideally with experience as a journalist themselves. Some experience in PR and communications will also be beneficial, as will a current understanding and working knowledge of the media industry.

If the above sounds like you, we want to talk to you!

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize journalistic instinct to find the newsworthy ‘hooks’ that the media will need
  • Proactively research and know what stories are more likely to land with media titles/channels
  • Develop and maintain key media relationships to create a strong and influential media bench
  • Stay on top of emerging media trends and proactively suggest stories that tie into these themes/trends
  • Provide strategic newsroom counsel and editorial support to clients and teams
  • Suggest storylines and themes apart from fact-checking, research, and editing
  • Analyze client objectives and audiences to determine content channels, and types.
  • Create editorial workflows, develop content calendars, and report on content results.
  • Generate and help produce story and content packages (pitching stories, develop story angles, bylined articles blog posts, thought leadership op-eds, social posts/calendars, email/website copy, podcast/video scripts and whitepapers).
  • Contribute story ideas – from pitch to execution – for multiple digital platforms.

Person Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in editorial and/or media relations. Preferably in a consultancy or agency setting covering healthcare and sustainability.
  • Exposure to APAC markets (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong apart from Singapore) will be an advantage.
  • Should have a strong understanding of multiple formats and platforms of storytelling
  • Must have experience of reporting on healthcare, women’s health, chronic diseases, and have an in-depth knowledge on policies and trends relevant to healthcare
  • Seasoned strategic media relations experience and contacts
  • Keen sense of news value and editorial judgment
  • Ability to write sharp, engaging copy on a variety of topics, in a variety of voices for different audiences and in a variety of content types
  • Ability to develop content strategies, including setting goals, determining audiences, performing research and competitor audits, choosing channels, and developing editorial calendars
  • Proven project management experience, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high quality work that meet client objectives.
