𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲? I get this question a lot since I began pursuing ICF accreditation for our school 2 years ago. There are indeed already many established options, so why? While there are many reasons, the single most compelling factor that pushed me to take the plunge is the ability to empower professionals and leaders in the impact sector. My stints with Teach For Malaysia and the United Nations Development Programme showed me that many talented individuals in the impact sector have a hunger for growth and a deep desire to make a real difference. Unfortunately, they lack the resources to invest in their development. These passionate individuals, already underpaid compared to the for-profit sector, often have to dig deep into their own pockets to become a certified ICF coach. By becoming an accredited coaching school, we gain the flexibility to cultivate coaches in both the business and impact sectors. These coaches, in turn, will spread the seeds of coaching, leading to a wider circle of individuals experiencing its positive impact. We're proud to announce that in 2023 and 2024, we offered scholarships with a 50% subsidy to five exceptional professionals and leaders. But we're not stopping there! We're partnering with the ICF Foundation to provide two fully funded scholarships in 2025. This will open doors for even more deserving leaders who yearn to make a meaningful contribution through coaching. Check out more below!

Elf Coaching , our company is a proud sponsor of the ICF Singapore Chapter International Coaching Week celebration in honour of the professionalism and integrity of the coaching industry. 15 years (in 6 months) ago when we registered our company in Singapore whilst still based in Dubai we had the vision of elevating the coaching industry on home ground. We see ourselves as the elves (as in elves and the shoemaker and Santa’s elves behind the scenes supporting the ‘big guys’ to do what they do best and for them to be known for it). It helps to sparkle some wonderment and magic too. Our first clients were the government of an Asian country (not Singapore - and they were the senior management) wanting a mentoring programme and the next client was a very well known industry leader in the oil and gas industry. And no, it wasn’t because of my name. Not many know of this story. ELF Coaching specifically because we wanted to be different from consulting companies out there as the main and critical impact of our work is we listen, we partner, we deliver in honor of our clients to be sustainable without us. Now ‘almost’ 15 years later we have stuck true to our vision with close friends still not knowing exactly what we do and who we do it with. Some of you had a sneak preview. There’s magic in confidentiality and keeping confidence of who we work with - much against the idea of gaining new business - who usually ask us why we don’t share as much as we do about who we work with. In 2016 we launched a new arm to equip leaders with Systems Inspires leadership and coaching skills for relationships and team. - CRR APAC Our ideology is simple: Most don’t want to share that they want us but will know how to seek us when they need us. So if our work is good, our clients will share about us by word of mouth and that’s the best vote of confidence. This may change as we are always open to share our work and impact with the world and for now, we are grateful for all our client partners who have trusted and those who didn’t as it kept us on our toes of growth and learning. So now we’ve grown up a little and we simply brand our self ELF. Human Growth Partners. Cheers to all who have believed in us and especially to those who didn’t, you’ve made us better. What is coaching? What does it take to be a Coach? Why is coaching transformative? These are some of the questions raised by leaders who joined us at our recent professional coaching retreat. It was such a treat to bring the learners to experience Tokyo in its history, culture and stories that could inspire new shifts and insights. What makes coaching different you might ask? “Coaching is an Experience to be Experienced!” They would be my reply. Bringing these group of leaders from various experiences, expertise and cultures, provides a space for powerful reflective learning and dive deep. We leverage on the space of conversations to allow coaches to experience a depth of conversation that is unparalleled. To me coaching ain’t about fanciful sayings or words or questions. It’s about showing up as another human being as another friend, a partner to co-create and to allow time and space for the nurturing of transformation. So what makes a coach? Its a person showing up in a conversation, not trying to show off but being in the moment to inquire, explore and evoke awareness to transform insights into tangible and sustainable change. Perfectionism is often seen as a pursuit of excellence and high standards. But, if we look into it more deeply, it can be identified as a complex behaviour rooted in the desire to mask the authentic self. At Paseda360, we recognise perfectionism as a form of pretender behaviour—a mechanism used to hide the true self in favour of an idealised image that is perceived as more acceptable. We have also noticed that this form of behaviour is quite common (based on the results of a survey we had done with1,600+ people), making perfectionism the most frequently worn mask among our respondents. A Reflection on Beauty, Humility, and Kindness, is what we spoke about during my coaching session. How people are treated is so disheartening. In the grand tapestry of existence, there exists a melody that resonates through the fabric of time—a symphony composed by the divine hand of providence. This melody, this masterpiece, is the essence of life itself. In the hustle and bustle of our daily endeavors, it's easy to lose sight of the profound beauty that surrounds us. Yet, in moments of quiet reflection, we're reminded of the breathtaking intricacies woven into the very fabric of our existence. Each dawn brings with it a canvas painted anew, with hues of possibility and promise. God, in His infinite wisdom, has bestowed upon us the gift of life—a precious opportunity to embrace the full spectrum of human experience. But life, dear friends, is not measured by the material wealth we amass, nor by the accolades that adorn our names. It is defined by the depth of our humanity, the authenticity of our spirit, and the compassion we extend to others. True richness lies not in the abundance of possessions, but in the richness of our connections—with our fellow travelers on this journey called life. It is in the moments of shared laughter, the embrace of a loved one, and the warmth of a stranger's smile that we find true wealth. Education, while invaluable, pales in comparison to the lessons learned through empathy and understanding. For it is humility that opens the door to wisdom, and kindness that bridges the gaps between hearts. In a world often fixated on perfection, let us instead celebrate our imperfections—the cracks in the veneer that allow the light of our humanity to shine through. For it is in our vulnerabilities that we find strength, and in our struggles that we discover resilience. Let me begin with a backstory… Pre-workshop audits are an important part of every training program / workshop that I design or conduct. Every time I meet a set of participants for training, I reach out to meet them BEFORE I meet them. I like to understand their experience with storytelling, questions / challenges in using it in their work, their expectations from the workshop and sometimes a story about them. Recently, while looking into the responses for a workshop happening soon, I noticed that a couple of participants had used Chat-GPT to answer simple questions. You can imagine what the question may be reading the description above. However, I couldn’t understand WHY would someone use AI to answer questions about themselves? 💡Have we stopped looking within? 💡Have we stopped reflecting on our own experiences? 💡Have we stopped looking ahead to see where do we want to grow? 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿? 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴! But, that’s not what we are talking yet… I will be meeting the participants soon. Started this day with my Strengths and Spirituality cohort at Strengths Philippines and really appreciated the session facilitated by Coach Menchit Wong on Integrity. She had us define Integrity using an Anagram. This is what we came up with: I - Incorruptible: Immune to bribery or moral compromise. N - No Lies: Commitment to always telling the truth. T - Trust: Establishing and maintaining trust through actions. E - Ethics: Adhering to a set of moral principles and values. G - Guided by the Holy Spirit: Following divine guidance in decision-making. R - Responsible: Being accountable for one's actions and their consequences. I - Impartiality: Making decisions without bias or favoritism. T - Transparency: Operating openly and honestly, with nothing hidden. Y - Yielding: Being open to compromise or adjustment without sacrificing integrity. This really resonated with me as I begin another week of #IntentionallyDoGood. Hope this learning also inspires your week!

Are there uncoachable coachees? I get this question many times. To me this is very subjective question because who is and is not often depend ls on the abilities of the coach more than many things else. To grow well, coaches should not repeatedly ‘assert’ that their coachees are not open to coaching or uncoachable that leads to terminating the coaching relationship. Jokingly, soon there will be no one to coach. In reality, it is not up to the coach to determine who is "good enough" for coaching; it is more for the coachee to express their views, even their judgement on this Coaches need to ask themselves this tough question: ‘How might I have contributed to this situation’? Only then they learn more about themselves as to their adaptability, flexibility, positivity and so on. When coaches have these qualities, they not only enjoy good long term relationship with their coaches, but also win their hearts of prospecting clients leading to more buriness for them. Delighted to share the second episode of my new podcast series 'Conversations that Count' with inspiring Singapore-based professionals. 🇸🇬 This episode is with the wonderful Nikki Smit who I’ve only known a short time but have learned so much from. The topic is how to create spaces for everyone to thrive which is something as a learning facilitator and designer I’m constantly mindful of. In this episode, Nikki shares her own personal story as someone who identifies as Neurodivergent, thank you for sharing so openly and eloquently. ✨ Here are just a couple of takeaways from our conversation: 1️⃣ Using a Nervous System Lens: Understanding dysregulation and using a nervous system lens can help us better support neurodivergent individuals. By recognizing signs of dysregulation and implementing strategies to counteract it, we can create more inclusive and supportive environments. Proactively addressing dysregulation on a day-to-day basis is key to fostering a positive work environment. 2️⃣ Being Brave and Having Conversations: Initiating open and honest conversations with neurodivergent individuals is crucial for building connections and fostering understanding. By asking questions about communication preferences, sensory needs, and support requirements, we can create a safe space where everyone feels valued and heard. Being brave in these conversations can lead to greater empathy and inclusivity in the workplace. The intention to do more speaking is a big thing. And as you start to analyse what you do, you will make so many things wrong. Hand gestures. Movement. Stage position. Stuff that many people will try and engineer out of you. And while that can be useful to help you with your confidence and get you to the stage, getting back got the authentic part is key. In many ways learning to speak is about then learning how to be you. Time + practice + reviewing = better speaking. Removing what it is to be you ≠ better speaking.

Let's talk Yesterday I attended a workshop for leaders and two things caught my attention, besides the speakers. 1. Most people stayed in their groups (different organisations were represented at the workshop) 2. Even at the refreshment station, just the minimum( a brief smile, pass the sugar) was exchanged. Why? After making my way around the room and engaging with some old faces as well as new ones, I concluded that: Some people never extend themselves and only speak when spoken to. Many have not as yet mastered the art of setting targets and working a room intentionally, to their benefit. Others are yet to learn how to initiate and engage in conversation, even with a complete stranger. What did each of these persons miss out on? 1. An opportunity to learn something from someone else 2. An opportunity to share their story 3. An opportunity to gain a new lead or job reference 4. An opportunity to build their community 5. An opportunity to assist and impact someone An opportunity to...they are numerous when you step out of your comfort zone, change your perspective about waiting for others to come to you, see yourself as the powerful individual that you are, and connect with people the right way😊 How do you manoeuvre at events or gatherings?

This question was asked to me by a participant when facilitating a women Leadership Journey.This leader in question has 17 years of experience and yet she felt so insecure about herself. I wondered as women,do we face the superwoman syndrome where we feel the continuous urge to prove ourselves. What barriers (internal or external) we face that makes us question our capabilities?
