In healthcare, patient safety and data security remain top priorities but this shouldn't slow tech adoption -- we may not be doing the best for patients in time to come if we do not use tech or AI to support our work. Our CEO, Siew Ying Ngiam, made this point on a top panel that included Senior Minister of State for Manpower Zaqy Mohamad, the Hon. Will Hodgman B.A., LL.B., Former Australian High Commissioner to Singapore and Former Premier of Tasmania, and Kerry Mok, CEO of SATS. The panel was part of the NCS Impact Forum, themed "Changing the Game", which was attended by 1,000 tech experts and practitioners from across APAC. The panel discussed the topic of steering organisations through global shifts whilst leveraging game-changing tech such as #AI. Other insights Siew Ying shared: - It is about how we can use AI to better do our jobs. AI can enhance clinicians' capabilities, such as through AI imaging -- which can pick up details in scans that the human eye might miss. - The future of AI includes ensuring its accessibility. Our backs and legs might be aching, but our hearts are full! ❤️ We held a garage sale over the weekend and raised over $32,000 for charity! 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Club Rainbow, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting families of children with major chronic illnesses. Aligned with Synapxe's sustainability programme, we've teamed up with SG Cares Volunteer Centre @ Geylang and Serangoon [operated by Care Community Services Society] to breathe new life into our office furniture, including cabinets and roller chairs. Through their partnerships with Rosyth School, Eunoia Junior College, and beneficiaries like Salvation Army (GraceHaven), Fei Yue, Ling Kwan Home, and Hiding Place Kitchen, these items are finding new homes. This initiative not only benefits these organisations but also contributes to a more sustainable future by reducing waste. This event was a wonderful opportunity for Synapxians to come together and contribute to a cause that truly makes a difference. Aspiring to join the cyber-security field? Synapxe is proud to be one of the founding members of the advisory committee for the new skills pathway in cybersecurity. Working with the Singapore Computer Society, this initiative is designed to support both new entrants and mid-career professionals in developing essential skills and transitioning into this critical industry. Our Assistant Chief Executive, Alan Goh, said to The Straits Times that cybersecurity is of utmost importance to Synapxe as it is the national #HealthTech agency, and that the intent of participating in the curation of certification and training programmes is to better match entrants who come into this field. Our HealthHub product team participated in ‘Progress Over Perfection’, a co-creation workshop organised by GovTech Singapore. At the event, we shared the multilingual capabilities of HealthHub and screen reader compatibility features for the visually impaired. Other features highlighted include the upcoming risk-based authentication to enhance the user login experience and language options for more HealthHub modules. It was a great opportunity to hear about the challenges various communities face, including industry players in product management, UX design, software engineering, and representatives for seniors and persons with disabilities.
