Sleek launched its Hong Kong business in 2019, and it has been flourishing ever since with over 3,000 customers. We now have a growing team of dedicated employees supporting our Hong Kong operations, led by the dynamic Liam Thomas. Liam is a visionary leader who champions innovation and leverages technology to enhance efficiency. He encourages his team to embrace new ideas, take calculated risks, and take ownership of their work. By simplifying processes, Liam streamlines operations and boosts productivity. Under his guidance, the Sleek Hong Kong office fosters a culture of innovation, daring exploration, ownership, and simplicity. These countries range from the smallest in the world, Monaco, to some of the largest, including Canada. They use us because of the unique position Hong Kong holds in enabling people to do business. Currently, almost half of our active clients reside overseas. Just like our clients, we have a diverse team from all over the world, including Australia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, and India. They have a diverse range of interests, including: ⭐ Jasper Tam, who is a meditation teacher and practitioner ⭐ Shotaro Abe, who is a trained trampoline expert ⭐ Christine Wong, who is a certified coffee snob We are growing really fast, and have doubled in size in terms of the number of clients in the last 18 months. 🎉 Sleek is 7 years old! 🎉 Today we celebrate Adrien Barthel, Sleek’s co-founder and first CEO, who is currently leading Sleek Australia. Adrien co-founded the business with Julien Labruyere in 2017. The inspiration for Sleek stemmed from frustrations with the outdated processes of the corporate secretary industry at the time. For example, almost none had adopted e-signatures, despite their legalization in Singapore years prior. The industry was inefficient, expensive, and inundated with paperwork. 🖇 Before starting Sleek, Adrien managed eCommerce for Carrefour (the world's 4th largest retailer) in Indonesia. He then led Marketing for Luxola, a beauty retail startup that was later acquired by Sephora, where he oversaw marketing for Southeast Asia. 🇸🇬 Adrien served as Sleek’s CEO during its first year, achieving product-market fit and securing the first 100+ clients. 🇭🇰 He subsequently led the Growth team and relocated to Hong Kong in 2019 to establish Sleek’s presence there, now serving over 3,000 clients. 🇦🇺 Last year, he moved to Sydney to accelerate our growth in one of the world’s largest SME markets. “What has been fascinating for me over these 7 years is observing thousands of entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. The true nature of Sleek is to empower entrepreneurs by freeing up their time to build their businesses or spend with their families. We achieve this by eliminating administrative hassles and providing insights to make informed decisions. She is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of expertise in accounting and financial oversight. Marina’s extensive experience spans multiple industries, including construction, project management, professional accounting services, semi-governmental sectors, and charitable organizations. Our almost 500 Sleekers serve thousands of customers across the world, and we pride ourselves on achieving exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Our employees routinely go above and beyond their normal duties to make our customers’ businesses successful. Here are a few examples of their extraordinary dedication: 🏦 Bank Assistance: We've queued at the bank to deposit checks for customers outside the country. ⚖️ Court Representation: We've attended court summons for clients who couldn't be physically present in Hong Kong. 💼 M&A Support: One of our customers in Singapore, MyRobin.ID, was acquired, and Sleek was asked to support their M&A pre- and post-completion deliverables. Due to tight timelines and requirements from their buyer’s legal team and escrow agent, Felicia Tan, one of Singapore's portfolio leads and formerly a Senior Corporate Secretary, supported the client through scheduled night meetings and circulated approximately 150 documents in just 2 days during weekends and public holidays.
