Congratulations to the students at Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Design & Environment. It's been a rewarding 6 years of partnership!
For the past 6 years, Omni has closely partnered with Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Design and Environment in running competitions, internships and various other activities. This year, for our “Inclusive Design” competition, we received multiple design proposals aimed at benefiting individuals with special needs. My fellow judges and I were deeply impressed by all the students, who did a stellar job of inhabiting the lives and understanding the needs of their target users. Congratulations to our top 3 winners: • Seth Wong Jun for Uni-con, a gaming controller for single-handed gaming, • Ian Ducro for Formex, an assistive device for physiotherapy, and • Phoebe Wong for Chingu, a learning solution for children with dyslexia. Seth, Ian and Phoebe, alongside our various merit award recipients, were worthy winners for their thoughtful and creative solutions. I wish to personally thank the instructors, particularly Benjamin Xue 薛玮隆 and Tan Wan Fong, for their hard work in preparing the students, as well as James, Ah Kat Tan (Dr.) and Geoffrey Chor Yong Tan, who have been our trusted partners over the years.

Dear customers and partners, We're pleased to announce that Rick Siu has taken over as CEO of Omni, effective today. Rick will be a familiar face to many, having been with us since 1999, most recently as our Chief Operating Officer. We're also grateful to Alain Perrot, who is stepping down after serving as CEO for the last 8 years. We'll miss his leadership but also his ready smile. Thankfully, Alain will remain part of the Omni family, continuing as Chairman of the Board. Congratulations, Rick! Au revoir, Alain!

Last week, Omni’s Global Commercial Team came together in China for our annual sales meeting. It was also my first opportunity to visit Omni DMS, our new digital factory. It was truly awe-inspiring to witness first-hand this degree of automation, the overall line efficiency, and the real-time reporting capabilities. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with colleagues from Brazil to Belgium to Japan and beyond. So much of our work is about the relationships we share – with each other and our customers.

People often mistakenly believe that individuals with visual disabilities cannot enjoy TV. In reality, studies have shown that the vast majority of visually-impaired adults consume television on a regular basis. Part of Omni’s innovation portfolio, the Envision concept was designed to facilitate ease of use for persons with visual disabilities. Key buttons are positioned for easy access with an emphasis on tactility, with 3D category icons on the chamfer. TV operators think about the economics of accessibility. The Envision balances important inclusivity features with the need for broad aesthetic appeal.
