The CIC has always emphasised the importance of "Walk the Talk – Synergy in Safety". The project “Development of Lok Ma Chau Loop – Main Works Package 1” under the implementation by the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), Hong Kong SAR Government has set a good example for the implementation of safe working culture. Ir Prof. Thomas HO, Chairman of the CIC attended the “Life First 2024” together with Mr. Michael FONG, Director of CEDD recently and reminded the team to conduct dynamic risk assessment before commencing works every day, identify the potential risks and hazards, take appropriate safety measures. Mr. Michael FONG also pointed out safety is always the top priority in their projects, which should maintain the highest standards and adhere to the CEDD’s core value of innovation and prioritise safety to strive for the goal of Zero Accident in the project. Guests and nearly 300 workers jointly signed the Safety Charter to promote a safety culture and pledge to work towards the goal of Zero Accident. The project team has also produced a short video about working at height, to enhance workers’ safety awareness on working at height. The frontline workers designed safety slogans in order to promote the site safety culture in every aspect. Ir Prof. Thomas HO highly praised the project team for their comprehensive use of smart technology. In addition to fully applying the 4S basic modules, the team has also collaborated with local institutions to develop other innovative 4S+ products, including safety harness monitoring and positioning system (Canopus) and falsework safety monitoring system (Tamago), to reduce construction risks. Furthermore, the team has used Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) for an innovative Full-Span Bridge Erection Method to erect a section of bridge decks over San Tin/Fanling Highways and Castle Peak Road to enhance site safety and to reduce the impact on road users. To respond to the Innovation strategic direction under "Construction 2.0" initiative, the project team has utilised handheld 3D scanning devices combined with BIM to optimise the design and to assist during the construction process. 建造業議會常強調「㩦手同心 行出安全」，土木工程拓展署正推展的落馬洲河套區發展 - 第一期主體工程正作出良好示範。議會主席何安誠教授工程師以及該署署長最近出席該工地的「生命第一」2024推廣活動，他亦提醒大家每天於展開工作前要做好動態風險評估，找出有可能潛在的風險及危害，並由安全管理人員作相關的安全建議及妥善管理。土木工程拓展署署長方學誠先生出席時也指出，安全永遠是工程的第一位，要時刻保持最高水平，堅持土木工程拓展署的初心「土拓精神 開拓創新 安全文化 由心而發」，共同向零意外邁進。 建造安全需各方配合，署長、主席、各承建商及接近300名工友一同簽署「安全」約章，以推動安全文化，以締造工地「零」意外為目標。除此之外，落馬洲河套地區的工程團隊還製作了一條關於高空工作的短片，名為《不失足成千古「幸」》，藉著這條短片教導工友高空工作安全及關注。前線工友更創作安全口號如：「高空工作要扣帶 長期扣住唔好解 轉位千祈咪貪快 延續保護係正解」，各方面都促進安全。 何主席大讚此項目已全面使用智能科技，除了全面應用4S基本模組，工程團隊更與本地學院合作，協助研發其他新穎的4S+產品，當中包括離地工作監測系統及設備（Canopus）和臨時支架監測系統（Tamago），以減低施工風險。除此之外，工程團隊更採用自行式模塊運輸車（SPMT），配合創新的「全跨度橋樑吊裝方法」吊裝橫跨粉嶺公路/ 新田公路及青山公路的橋樑節段，以提升工地安全，減少對道路使用者的影響。為響應「建造業 2.0」的「創新」策略方針，團隊還利用手持三維掃描儀結合建築信息模擬來優化設計及輔助施工流程。何主席留意到工友均穿上公司派發的風扇背心，現場還有設置空調的洗手間，突顯管理層對前線工友的關懷，連帶工程掘出的泥也可用作花草種植，從而推動可持續發展！ #建造業議會 #CIC #LifeFirst
