EuroCham Singapore is organising an event on “Financing for Social Impact", which will be held at ING APAC on 27 August (Tuesday) from 9:00 am - 11:30 am (SGT). Sign up now at https://buff.ly/3SC0SMe As we navigate the complexities of social and environmental issues such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and healthcare, it becomes important for corporations, which possess the scale and capability, to explore financing mechanisms in the markets they operate in to drive tangible and sustainable social outcomes. Together with EuroCham’s knowledge partner, Accenture, the ‘Financing for Social Impact’ panel discussion will focus on leveraging finance to create significant social impact and initiatives that drive positive change. This panel discussion will explore climate and sustainability and share examples of the tremendous work the Temasek Foundation is doing in Asia. The discussion will also dive into solutions, including Nature-based solutions on how philanthropic catalytic capital can come in to de-risk solutions. Temasek Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Temasek International, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore. ING Bank is at the forefront of creating a social impact and will focus on social loans and bonds, which finance projects with clear social objectives, and Sustainable Lending Practices, which integrate social impact criteria into lending practices and establish social Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in Sustainability Linked Loans (SLLs). Additionally, the panel will discuss Sustainable Investment Strategies that contribute to a just transition, such as renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and green technologies, while considering their social implications: - Andrew Chew (ING) - Andrew Coleman (Accenture) - Li Lang Heng (Temasek Foundation) #TeamEurope #EuroChamSG #Sustainability #FinancialServices Nele Cornelis Shelly De Groote Christine Jeremiah Mai Josephine Tanya Sahni Vanessa Sipple-Asher Eva Vincetic

On 30 July, EuroCham, in collaboration with ING APAC, organised an interactive event: the “Sustainability Business Dilemma Game”. We extend our thanks to ING APAC for hosting and express our special gratitude to Ms Evelien Hooijman (ING APAC), Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee, and Ms Gemke Wijgergangs (ING APAC), for their initiative and seamless moderation of the event. In this engaging and dynamic event, the participants were tasked with navigating a challenging scenario: the municipal government of Dhaka, Bangladesh, sold its waste disposal site to Top Waste Landfill Company (TWL) to upgrade the plant to handle high-hazardous waste. The mission? To decide whether to finance this €150 million operation. With the objective of reaching a consensus among five key stakeholders, we delved into thought-provoking discussions, balancing environmental, social, and reputation risks. The collaborative spirit, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking displayed by all participants were truly inspiring. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. Together, we showcased the power of teamwork in tackling complex sustainability challenges. #TeamEurope #EuroChamSG #Sustainability Nele Cornelis Shelly De Groote Christine Jeremiah Mai Josephine Tanya Sahni Vanessa Sipple-Asher Eva Vincetic
