Based on a comprehensive survey covering 500 parents across 27 countries, the #PulseofParents report reveals a growing awareness of the importance of tech skills in the next decade. Notably, 41% of parents globally feel that the traditional route of education isn't sufficient to prepare their kids for the future. It's clear that bridging the skills gap is vital for empowering the next generation. Read all the details of the report here: https://lnkd.in/gnvb2dcX

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day today, I'm thrilled to share the first-of-its-kind global survey of parents by BrightCHAMPS. The #PulseOfParents report was compiled over months of surveys and telephonic interviews, and captures the thoughts, concerns, and considerations of 500+ parents across 27 countries. Some eye-opening findings from the report: 🌏 41% parents, globally, believe that the traditional route of school >> college/university >> degree >> employment is no longer enough to secure their children's future. This number is as high as 56% in the US.  🌏 65% parents, globally, think skill-building for practical knowledge needs to supplement academic learning for their kids to be successful in life. In South East Asia, India, and Europe 3 out of 4 parents strongly believe this.  🌏 33% parents, globally, think Robotics & AI/ML is the most important life-skill kids will need in the next decade  🌏 46% parents, globally, worry about their children's financial security & the value of expensive degrees in the changing employment landscape 🇮🇳 50% Indian parents feel school education is no longer enough to prepare their kids for the future. While it's heartbreaking to see how intensely worried parents are, the swiftness with which parents have adapted to the way we do education gives me immense hope. Once upon a time, securing admissions to renowned institutions & procuring expensive degrees was the most important consideration for parents while making learning decisions for their kids. But the #PulseOfParents report is proof that parents around the world are increasingly questioning this tried and tested progression path. The writing on the wall is clear: Parents across countries have called for practical skills training for well-rounded education for their kids. So I have no doubt that next-gen life skills will soon be included in formal school curricula around the world and become the new normal in childhood education. If you're a parent, educator, or a stakeholder within education, I'd love to know your thoughts. https://lnkd.in/gkv_zPU6 https://lnkd.in/gYHSJFGh https://lnkd.in/gictjbkr https://lnkd.in/gkWViVxK Abhishek Sharma Aditya Gupta Aditya Bhargav Bhavishya Chaurasia Dinesh Arora Gyan Tiwari Kirti Kumar Micky Sukhwani Nhu Tran Le Thanh Pavan Allena Souradeep Paul Sonali Kokra Vishal Gupta Rasheeda Kesury

Unpopular parenting truth: 𝙁𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙠𝙞𝙙𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡. 😬 I'm a big fan of parents who want their kids to be exposed to as many new things as they are able to access to enrich their kids' inner and outer worlds. Being introduced to a wide range of POVs and knowledge about a diverse mix of topics helps them discover themselves and their interests. 🙌🏽 But I also firmly believe that there is such a thing as overkill. Over the years, I've met a lot of parents who are so focussed on making their kids the best at everything they try, they practically choke their kids with information. And often, this need to make their kids shine comes from the pressure to be perceived as hands-on, successful parents. 😔 ❎ 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘷𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴, 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨. 🫢 ✅ Kids need a balance of structure and being left to themselves to go deeper and discover things on the topics of their choosing, and do this at their own individual pace. 𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧: 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙥 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙨/𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 "𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚" 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨. Boredom, in fact, is essential for cognitive development and creativity! 🙏🏽 #Kids #Learning #Children #India #LetsConnect #Education #Innovation #Creativity #School #Startup #Edtech

Knowledge, learning, and commitment will ALWAYS find a way. And a few bad apples can only slow down the cart temporarily, not topple it permanently, when you have Maa Saraswati on your side. 💪🏼 Needless to say, none of this could have been possible without the unwavering support of our champion investors Deborah Quazzo GSV Ventures Binny Bansal 021 Capital Premji Invest Tk Kurien Hero Choudhary BEENEXT. ❤️ Abhishek Sharma Aditya Gupta Aditya Bhargav Bhavishya Chaurasia Dinesh Arora Gyan Tiwari Kirti Kumar Micky Sukhwani Nhu Tran Le Thanh Pavan Allena Souradeep Paul Sonali Kokra Vishal Gupta

My opinion piece for YourStory Media on why encouraging young girls to pursue STEM is crucial for building world-changing products to solve the biggest issues facing us today. 🙌 And on that note, I'm proud to say that all our verticals (Coding, AI, Robotics, Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, and Communications) at BrightCHAMPS average 40+% girl students, and every day we work towards increasing this number. Close to 70% of our teaching staff is female. We're a WIP in progress when it comes to women in purely tech roles, but we're get there. 💪 🚀 ---- "In a world that is dominated by discoveries in the field of tech and AI, it strikes a very discordant note when these are largely created by and for just 50% of our population, ie the men. Take the example of fitness tracking apps. Most are designed with a very masculine idea of fitness—muscle gain, competitive performance and strength training. While these may appeal to some women, it doesn’t cater to the diverse needs of most women. They have a very limited focus on women’s health concerns (programmers, please note, that just adding a period tracker to the app does not make it female-friendly) even the default avatars, personalisations and recommendations cater to a male user." #AI #WomenInSTEM #WomenInTech #Technology #Education #Learning #Startups #India

“My objective for wanting them to be trained in entrepreneurship from an early age is not so they can learn ‘How’ to do a bunch of things — I think that can be learned even later.
