Beijing-headquartered Yingke Law Firm has established a new office in Tokyo, Japan, marking its 48th overseas branch. Yingke tells ALB that the Tokyo office will be led by director Wu Ting. In terms of future development, together with other segments such as tax, business visits and travel, the office will build a team of one hundred people. With the opening of the Tokyo office, Yingke said in a press release that its Japan practice will not only be able to better serve the legal needs of the original Japanese companies in China but will also be able to provide additional assistance to Chinese clients studying, working and investing in Japan, as well as conducting business there. Lee Choon Wan & Co is advising Malaysia's top mini-market chain retailer 99 Speed Mart Retail on its planned $509 million IPO, the country's biggest in seven years. Christopher & Lee Ong, a member firm of Rajah & Tann Asia is counselling the underwriters. Founded by entrepreneur Lee Thiam Wah in 1987 as a traditional sundry store, 99 Speed Mart, plans to offer an up to 17 percent stake, Reuters reported. The offering will also be Southeast Asia's biggest IPO in over one year since Amman Mineral Internasional's listing in Indonesia in July last year, Reuters noted. Indonesia’s TNB & Partners, which operates in association with Norton Rose Fulbright, has hired disputes and arbitration specialist Erie Tobing as a partner from local outfit Soemadipradja & Taher. Tobing’s dispute resolution expertise spans sectors such as construction, financial institutions, mining, shipping, and telecommunications.
