Sweden's national center for molecular biosciences

Om oss

SciLifeLab is a Swedish national center for molecular biosciences with focus on health and environmental research. The center combines frontline technical expertise with advanced knowledge of translational medicine and molecular bioscience. SciLifeLab was established in 2010 and appointed a national center in 2013 by the Swedish government. Four additional sites - Lund, Gothenburg, Linköping and Umeå - were appointed in 2021 in addition to the original two in Stockholm and Uppsala. The SciLifelab site in Gothenburg includes units at both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology and has a strong connection to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. These units are Bioinformatics (NBIS), Centre for Cellular Imaging (with focus on Cryo-EM and Correlative Array Tomography), Clinical Genomics, Chemical Biology Consortium Sweden, OligoNova Hub, Proteomics Core Facility (with focus on Glycoproteomics), Swedish Metabolomics Center and Swedish NMR center.
