Delighted to have returned from this years #BIO2024 convention in San Diego last week. It’s always so inspiring to see all corners of the biotech and pharma community from start-ups to big-pharma get together to discuss #innovation. For myself and PILA PHARMA it was encouraging to discuss potential #partnerships around our unique clinical stage #TRPV1 antagonist solution for treatment of #diabetes and other #metabolic conditions, both with new and old acquaintances from all around the world. Some takeaways: 🌎 Appetite for new drugs to treat metabolic conditions is still high – however, different demography’s have different patient needs 💪🏼 Heavy weight-loss is not everything – next gen products will need to have a “lean” profile with emphasis on fat loss and #retainment of muscle mass 💊 With the ’lifestyle #pandemic’ still in growth globally, consensus is that it will solely be oral drugs that can improve #accessibility I always learn so much from the individual companies about the specific needs in their home markets and I look forward to follow up and continue the discussions to evaluate the role of our potential drug in these markets and demographical settings. #PILA #Biotech #Diabetes #Cardiovascular #Obesity
