NOW

IS

TIME

UNITE TO ACT

For too long, we have been used to thinking in divisions. We draw lines, segregating countries, peoples, issues.

The lines are everywhere – in the parched soil cracked with drought; in the sky trailing a plane; in the barriers and walls that keep us apart.

The power of the SDGs is that they call on us to weave the lines together, transforming them into a ribbon.

The ribbon represents our togetherness and community. It calls on us to unite to act

Unity is at the heart of the SDGs because achieving any single goal requires achieving them all. And this is only possible when people themselves unite for change.

United does not mean everyone doing the same thing or thinking the same way. It means people coming together, in all our diversity, to give humanity and our planet a beautiful, sustainable future.

We are stronger together, united in action. #Act4SDGs

In 2022, the Global Week to #Act4SDGs mobilized 142 million SDG actions from all over the world. 142 million actions that had a positive impact on efforts to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals and make a difference for both people and planet.

From 15 to 25 September 2023, the UN SDG Action Campaign and its global partners will scale up engagement and action across the world on themes spanning from climate action and peace to inclusion, sustainable food systems, and gender equality, mobilizing international organizations, local governments, youth movements, and millions of individuals to ensure a more sustainable future for all.

All actions will be captured and visualized on our Global Map of SDG Action, which can be filtered down by country, region, SDG, and sector allowing us to report back at key UN milestone moments to show how collective action can lead to great change around the world. Join the action and visit act4sdgs.org for more information.

UN SDG ACTION AWARDS CEREMONY

The 2023 UN SDG Action Award winners were unveiled at an inspiring and creative Awards Ceremony on 24 July in Rome, Italy, during the official opening day of the 2023 the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment, hosted by the Government of Italy at the premises of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the collaboration of the UN Rome-based agencies, the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub, and the wider UN system.

17 GOALS TO
TRANSFORM OUR WORLD

Decent jobs, social protection, quality education and health services, climate action, clean water. All people desire these. The Sustainable Development Goals are meant to deliver them, leaving no one behind.

While the current moment of global crisis poses great risks, it also offers hope for sweeping changes, on the scale the Goals demand. People at large are coming forward to steer a new course for their world, joining governments, businesses and diverse organizations. Their common call: Act now. Achieve justice and human well-being. Heal our planet.

The UN SDG Action Campaign joins committed individuals, organizations and growing SDG networks to channel the power of people to act on the Goals – and inspire others to do the same.

We embrace a hopeful vision that the transformation of the world imagined in the SDGs can be achieved, and that the justification for doing so now is stronger than ever before.
