The previous hitSenate Staff next hit Oral History Project documents the professional careers and reflections of individuals who served on the staffs of Georgia's United States Senators from Richard B. Russell, Jr. to the present. Interview participants include members of legislative and committee staffs who worked in Washington D.C. and Georgia. Most interviewees held one or more senior positions including, but not limited to, administrative assistant (or chief of staff), staff director, legal counsel, legislative aide, legislative director, policy analyst, press secretary, regional director, and scheduler. The collection documents the personal experiences and insights of these staff members as they relate to their experience working for U.S. Senators from Georgia, the role of the United States Senate in government, the Senate as a workplace, and memorable campaigns and legislative debates. It also includes assessments of the legacies left by Georgia's U.S. Senators with regard to politics and public policy in Georgia and the United States.
