Canonical correlation described continuity and discontinuity in salient covariates of
emotional and interactional components in parent‐child relationships among NYLS
participants from middle adolescence to young adulthood. The results underscore the
importance of multiple indicators of parent‐child relationship quality, and their implications
for assessment and intervention efforts are discussed.
