The purpose of this paper is to discuss briefly the limitations of using polyphenol aglycones
or polyphenol extracts derived from plant foods to assess biological response, the
challenges posed by bioavailability of dietary polyphenols, and how we can bridge the gap
in our ability to provide credible scientific evidence using tea polyphenols as an example.
Abstract
