In the study of Andean obsidiancarried out byRichard Burger and Frank Asaro in the 1970s
at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBL), only two chemical types of obsidian were en,
countered among the Preceramic artifacts recoveredbyAyacucho, HuantaArchaeological,
