BACKGROUND: Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a psychiatric disorder characterised by
the patient's preoccupation with an imagined defect in his or her physical appearance.
Subjects with BDD often seek cosmetic surgery; however, the outcome of surgery is usually
