Chikungunya virus infection is a rapid-onset, febrile disease with intense asthenia,
arthralgia, myalgia, headache, and rash. This mosquito-borne alphavirus has spread
throughout the Caribbean and into much of Central America. Further spread in the Americas
seems likely.
