We have been in affiliation with Eversheds Sutherland since 2011. Our highly experienced team located in Riyadh, many of whom are licensed both locally and internationally, offer extensive knowledge on all aspects of the laws of Saudi Arabia and cross-border transactions outside of the Kingdom. We have an acute sense of the Saudi market and the needs of local and global organizations and use international best practice taking into account local practices, customs and language. AlDhabaan & Partners in association with Eversheds Sutherland grants access to a global top 10 law practice and full service legal offering for our clients. Collectively, 120+ lawyers (including 27 partners) are based on the ground in seven offices across five countries in the Middle East, including the UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), Jordan (Amman), Qatar (Doha), and Iraq (Baghdad and Erbil). AlDhabaan & Partners in association with Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP advised Astra Industrial Group Company, a leading Tadawul listed industrial conglomerate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sale of 100% of the shares in Astra Mining Company Limited by Astra Industrial Group Company and Tharawat Mining Company to Tadawul listed Saudi Lime Industries Company. Astra Mining Company Limited’s activities include operating quarries and sand and gravel mines, including crushers, conducting exploratory drilling related to mineral exploration, manufacturing quicklime and hydrated lime, and manufacturing sound and heat insulation materials. Eversheds Sutherland has advised the shareholders of Al Raya For Food Stuffs Company JSC (“Al Raya” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Levant Capital and a leading supermarket chain operating along the western half of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sale of 100% of the shares of the Company to Tamimi Markets Company (“Tamimi”). Established in 1991 with its maiden store in Jeddah, Al Raya has grown into a leading regional supermarket chain, boasting 51 supermarkets spread across more than 20 cities in the Northwest, West, and Southwest of Saudi Arabia. Levant Capital had acquired a 75% stake in Al Raya in 2012 and led the institutionalization of the Company and the development of its independent management team. Over Levant Capital’s investment period, the Company more than doubled its store footprint from 23 to 51 stores and increased its sales area 2.5 times. The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Partner Zeid D. Hanania, assisted by Principal Associate Noor Al Heialy, with further support from M&A team members Steve Jennings and Ryan Todd along with Partners Walid Salib and Ibrahim Alsultan and Principal Associate Faris Al-Louzi of AlDhabaan & Partners in association with Eversheds Sutherland.
