Felicity Finch

Felicity Finch originally trained as an actor working in theatre, television and radio, where she has played the part of Ruth Archer in The Archers since 1987. She later moved into making documentaries and features for Radio 4 and The World Service, including Woman’s Hour, You and Yours, Home Truths, Saturday Live and Outlook. Her documentary making has ranged in subject matter from self-storage units to the demise of the steel industry in the North East and from cage fighting to ballet shoe rivalry. “Will He Change His Socks”, about a young man with Down’s syndrome, was nominated for a Sony award.
Felicity has also worked as a drama trainer for BBC Media Action on the radio dramas New Home New Life and Old City New Dreams in Afghanistan. Her programmes about the use of radio as an educational tool in other countries have led to invitations to present the Reading Merl Annual Lecture 2011, as well as presentations at the 2012 Transformational Media Summit and The School Of Oriental and African Studies World Radio Day 2014.
She’s also trained young fathers in feature making for The Ideas Foundation, Radio Production students at Bournemouth University and drama students at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Guildford School of Acting.
