Sometimes I speak on behalf of my project, Raiseway. When I do, I am explicit about it. Other than that, I use LinkedIn as Twitter because I prefer Microsoft to get the ad revenue.
Bio:
By education, I'm a political scientist & economist.
While in school, I found all of my internships and jobs through Craigslist. Did anything and everything - from front desk work, copywriting, data entry, and real estate brokerage, to writing a brief on geopolitical risk. Began dreaming of working as a geopolitical risk analyst. Wrote papers about Russia's strategy in Ukraine, CIA operations in Iran & Guatemala in 53/54, corporate political advocacy, influence of religious organizations on American politics, and Iran's modern political regime.
Interned at the UN Population Fund (formerly Reproductive Rights Fund) - worked on LGBTQ+, HIV+, drug addiction and other stigmas & biases within the UN System. Served as the Head Delegate of the Model UN team, we did well. Wrote my capstone on the UN Institutional Reform. The last submitted paper was on the ICC's case selection mechanisms.
After university, briefly worked in e-sports.
Then I began selling and servicing capital markets intelligence for the following 3 years. My accounts included groups at the IMF, World Bank, a few Federal Reserve Banks, Blackstone, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and 100+ other investment managers, law firms, investment banks, and consultants. Worked with FX & Macro forecasts, distressed debt intel, CLOs, Muni Debt & PE fundraising.
Then I went on to do fundraising & consulting. The work on Raiseway began when I could not figure out how to help NightRide with their investment crowdfunding campaign.
I believe Investment crowdfunding can change economics for small & micro businesses.
I've been working on the project for 3.5+ years and it's made me poor but I believe in this. And in us.
Small business economics will change if investment crowdfunding becomes easy and affordable to do for under-resourced & under-skilled businesses. Right now most of them cannot execute an investment crowdfunding raise: it is too resource-consuming & confusing. The barrier of entry is too high.
That's what Raiseway wants to fix. We are building a support platform for small businesses that are considering investment crowdfunding, raising, or already investor reporting.
