My grandmother used to make those sweet treats. It is fast and can be served hot or cold. Mincunele means little lies in Romanian.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 yolks
  • 2 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
  • 4-5 tablespoons powdered sugar for coating
  • 500 g of sunflower oil for frying

Beat the egg whites fluffy. Mix the yolks with the sour cream and fold into the egg whites. Sieve the flour and the baking powder. Gently fold into the egg mix until you have a smooth dough.

Roll the dough unto a sheet on the work table (about 5 mm thick) and cut shapes. See picture below or just simply use a glass or a cookie cutter Fry in hot oil over medium heat and on both sides. Take out on kitchen paper to take out the excessive oil.
